The Right Manner & Precaution of Against Coronavirus “Wuhan Virus”
The coronavirus which was first reported in Wuhan late last year has quickly spread around the world. The Chinese authorities have locked down many cities in China’s Hubei province, and some international flights to China have been suspended. — SCMP.com
The first cases of what was then a mystery illness were reported in December in Wuhan. The virus has spread rapidly, claiming 26 lives by January 22, jumping to 80 five days later, and to 170 by the morning of 30 January.
How deadly is coronavirus?
On Wednesday, January 29, health authorities confirmed the number of coronavirus cases in Mainland China has surpassed the amount of people infected by Sars during 2002–2003 epidemic. By the time the global Sars outbreak was contained, the virus spread to over 8,000 people worldwide and killed almost 800.

The fatality rate is compare with Sars, Mers, and Ebola virus are not that deadly but still the precaution, and preventation must have.
The outbreak has been linked to Wuhan’s Huanan Wholesale Seafood Market which has been closed. Weeks after the market in the city in central China became ‘Ground Zero’. The authorities said human-to-human transmission played a role in the outbreak.
Symptoms and Complications

Some infected people do not show any symptoms, while for others the symptoms can be severe, and fatal. The incubation period for this virus can up to 14 days. Children, under two years old and people aged over 65 or with weak immune systems are particularly susceptible to develop severe complications such as Pneumonia.
Prevention & Precaution
Currently there is no vaccine to prevent coronavirus infection. The best way to prevent infection is avoid being exposed to this virus. However, it is still recommended to practice the below preventive actions to help prevent the spread of other respiratory viruses, including :
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water is not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Stay at home when you are sick
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, and then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- Seek early medical help if encounter any fever, cough and difficult breathing.
- Avoid direct, unprotected contact with live animals and surface contact with animals when visiting live markets in affected areas.
- Avoid eating raw, or undercooked animal products, and exercise care handling raw meat, milk, animal organs to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods.
- Put on the mask when you are sick to prevent the chances of the transmission.
- Avoid the crowded place as much as possible especially the infected area
