The Reason Why You Will Find New Opportunities And Time To Help Others

You all know how great it is to make a plan, and how busy you keep thinking about the goal, and going forward a step at a time. It gives you a lot of energy and enthusiasm, especially if your plan becomes more complete in time.

But how do you react when things don’t work? And how can you understand when the time to finally give up has come?

For a couple of years I have been trying to help children in need in the area I live in, thanks to a good organization that is very careful in helping families with problems. My availability changed a few times, and then the pandemic stopped all the process. But my desire to do it was still there.

I think I might make a difference in a child’s life by spending time with him just one afternoon a week, helping him with his homework, or talking him to the swimming pool. Or letting him play with my cat in my warm house. I am aware that it will not be a solution to family problems I can’t even think of, but just some help to make a day better. It is an effort we could all make.

Yet, as a volunteer, you and your family have to attend a few meetings, and it turned out to be impossible for me to have everybody available in those slots. I was the only one really interested in it, which I accept and understand. It was my project, not a family project.

The idea that due to some procedures I couldn’t help someone in need makes me think of all the couples who want to adopt a child, I guess it’s quite a long, complicated and stressful process. However, due to both problems, I had to make a decision and quit my plan.

I know I will find another way to do some volunteering work, there are lots of different options and organizations, or I might help the neighbor's children. I am sorry because I am convinced that things should be easier when there are so many children in need.

After I made this decision, I felt much better. If it doesn’t work, then it means it doesn’t have to be. It was just my first experience, I will find other ways. Now I know that the plan with this organization is cancelled, I will no longer think about it and I feel much better.

Yet, ever since I was a young girl, I have hoped I could help children in need, so I just think it was the first step which will make me clarify my goal. I think that if something is important for you, you will find a way to make it happen.

That’s the reason: if you want to give time and love to those in need, you will find a way, even if you have been disappointed and even if it was not your original plan. There will always be new opportunities for those who give.
