The Real Writer

What are we letting through?

Most writers write from their noggins. Their noggins contain a vast store of stories and insights. It’s a matter of digging up those stories and bringing them to the forefront.

There are so many stories!

But when we can bypass the stories in our noggins and open up to the universal unlimited field of possibilities then we can bring forth stories that surpass our experiences and even our knowledge. We can become a conduit for wisdom that we have never incorporated into our knowledge bank.

As a writer we must shut the hell up and just listen. We must turn the noggin off and become a scribe. All real writers are just scribes that transcribe that which flows through them. If there is any difficulty it’s always because the noggin and its incessant thinking gets in the way.

Don’t get me wrong. The noggin is a truly wonderful thing. It can come up with incredibly delightful stories.

But the Universe always has better stories. Every story our noggins come up with is only a vague interpretation of a story the Universe is constantly inundating us with. We are translators. We tell each other what the universe is telling all of us.

To be a writer we must become empty vessels for the stories the universe sends through us. We are merely the scribes who translate the universe to those who block the universe from their awareness. We awaken in others the stories that are coming through them which they are not receiving.

As writers we are receivers and transmitters. Our success depends on the clearness of our channel. And nothing screws up that clear channel more than our noggins.

We must write from our authentic self. To do that we must find our authentic self. Writing is one of the best ways to find it. And that involves going deeper beyond our noggins. It involves going from our noggins into our hearts. While our noggins connect to our past experiences, our hearts connect to the universe. And our hearts also connect to every single other human on the planet.

We all have a human core. And we are all connected to the core of all humanity. Our expressions are the connection to that all encompassing human core. Humankind cannot come together except through the expression of what connects us. We cannot be a part of humankind while remaining silent. Our expressions are what connect us and propel us forward in our collective trajectory to that which is our common goal.

We cannot be part of that core of humanity without expressing it. We cannot be part of the universe without allowing it to flow through us. And we cannot be a true writer without shutting off our noggins in order to connect to the universe and allowing that to connect us to every single human on the planet. The process of writing and of reading is to reconnect to the oneness from which we all came and to which we are all returning.
