The Real Superheroes of Our Life Time
The year 2020 is not like any other year, people will always remember it to be as the year that changed the course of human history forever.
So many changes have taken place in a very short period of time that literally makes it difficult to single out which one stands out from the rest.
Having said that, still, there is a truth to be told in every story and this one is no exception.
Prior to the recent and still ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, one or two might have argued with what I am going to say as I continue to explain to you who are the real superheroes of our lifetime.
But since we have witnessed everything in recent times, I highly doubt anyone will make any objection.
Our Superheroes in the past and the present
Growing up as young children, we all had different superheroes that we admired them whether they were real or just fictional characters that we believed could save us and the world when we find ourselves in risky or dangerous situations.
Later on, when we reached our teenage years and then into adulthood, we began realizing that no such superheroes existed.
Suddenly that leaves a void inside us that needs to be filled, we start looking for replacements that can fill the space. Then we unexpectedly find ourselves admiring celebrities, footballers, and social media stars who offer us nothing more than entertainment at the expense of our money and valuable time.
Yet on the other side, we have the real superheroes that we rarely notice their presence until we need their help. They were the first ones who welcomed us when came into this world as crying babies.
By now I am sure you have guessed correctly to whom I am referring to as the real superheroes of our generation and those who will come after us.
They are none other than the white army of men and women who strive and struggle with all their capacity to save us from the deadly Coronavirus that is threatening our lives day and night even sometimes at the cost of their own lives.
“Medicines cure diseases, but only doctors can cure patients.” — Carl Jung
If you have been the following the news about the Covid-19 Pandemic closely, which I believe you do, you should be familiar with the heroics of these men and women on countless occasions by saving thousands of precious human lives in almost every country around the globe.
They stood firmly and bravely on the frontline against the fight of Coronavirus, risking everything along the way from their health to their own lives.
Unfortunately, we lost many of them in this fight and might still lose some more wonderful lives of these superheroes as the battle against Covid-19 rages on in many parts of the world as you are reading this post right now.
In Conclusion
Acknowledging their sacrifices, paying our tributes to those who lost their precious lives for the cause of saving humanity, and honoring the rest who come out of this great battle deservedly winners is the least we can do for them right now.
We should also applaud them, praise them, comfort them, support them and thank them on every opportunity we get to show our solidarity and that we are very much grateful for everything they did, are doing now and will continue to do so for humanity in the days, months and years ahead.
“We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives”
-John F. Kennedy
Also not to forget to remind ourselves every day as well as teach our young children that the real superheroes are not the superman, batman, celebrities, footballers, or even politicians for that matter, rather they are the Doctors, Nurses, medical staffs and health-care workers in general.
Thank you for your precious time.
