The Real Reason North America has a Huge Political Divide

It’s called Media Bias.

I was going to write right about this subject about a week ago, but I decided not to publish that. It’s because I still desire to work in the media.

Just now, I was going to write an article about another topic. However, I decided to return to the subject of Media Bias.

I understand what you are thinking. Aren’t you someone who believes everyone should fact-check all the sources? Yes, I do. I am not going to change my mind.

Suddenly, this Freedom Convoy shows up, believing that they are protesting Covid Mandates, when in fact, they are simply White Supremacists out to party. Who would carry the Confederate Flag, Nazi Symbols, and guns (Yes, the RCMP had to arrest a few demonstrators for gun possession. Eleven people were arrested at the Coutts, Alberta border for that reason) to a protest against pandemic mandates in Canada? They desecrated two important Canadian monuments in Ottawa (the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and a statue of Terry Fox). Ottawa and the rest of Canada are outraged not by the protests, but by the fact that most of the demonstrators are White Supremacists.

I have viewed countless videos have been posted against these Alt-Righters on TikTok. But one stood out for me.

The idiot protesters tell us not to watch any news on CTV, CBC, or Global (In Canada). Yet, they want everyone to watch Fox and Rebel News (which presently, I am delighted to announce is being censored). One TikTok star went to a website (I did ask him what was the name of it, but I did not get a response), that is all about media bias.

His research focused on CTV, whose news is largely unbiased. Unfortunately, I didn’t see his Fox News review.

Based on my own investigation, I believe this TikToker used mediabiasfactcheck.com for his video. Checking out that site, I noticed there are both left and right bias tabs. However, there are too many ads on mediabiasfactcheck.com, which is the only problem with it.

Two other sites that I found about media bias are listed below.

Due to Media Bias, the United States is divided into two political factions.

I don’t know about you, but I remember a time, before Rush Limbaugh and Rupert Murdoch, where all media was unbiased. Back then, the viewer/listener/reader could decide what side to take based on the facts about a topic. In addition, reporters presented both sides of the story, not just one.

In the Ad Fontes Media video, the narrator said, “Our information ecosystem is toxic.” Which is what has happened. Everyone must work together to fix it. This is, however, not as easy as it seems. Why? There are a few key groups you need to involve: Consumers, Stakeholders, Marketers, Educators, Publishers, and Social Media Platforms. Simply writing to your local politician won’t cut it. All of us must do our part to fight misinformation and work together.

To this point, the left-right fight we are all engaged in right now is due to media bias. Two fundamentally different political views have made it impossible for families to get along. This has also led to physical altercations between people.

Why don’t all media go back to the good old days when reporters, anchors and media owners didn’t determine which side of an issue one would present to the viewer, listener, or reader? Do you agree?

Nonetheless, there are some good news sources that do not take either side. It’s better to follow them than ones that are either left or right. Better yet, why don’t you read my article The Importance of Media Literacy, and then figure out on your own which news source is unbiased to you. It would be the hardest part since mainstream and social media are filled with negativity.

Most Canadians are tired of these ignorant and bratty protesters who refuse to leave the border and Ottawa until their demands are met. Those people do not realize that each province in Canada will gradually end the Covid mandates (as long as hospital rates decline). All pandemic mandates are set by the provinces, except if you are traveling: that’s federal. Even if these protesters believe they are winning (which they are not) these unvaccinated racist truckers will be prevented from entering the U.S. because of their Covid-19 restrictions. Furthermore, they are oblivious to the reality that every Canadian sees them as White Supremacists, and not ordinary citizens resisting vaccine mandates. It’s still a relief that all of these frickin’ a — holes were or will be arrested. They will also face more repercussions for their actions, which they will greatly despise, and I won’t mention here.

There should be laws against bias both in the traditional and social media in Canada and the U.S. What do you all think?
