The Quarantined Income Workshop Series has Wrapped
If you’re looking to make money, I’ve got some ideas

It all started with a Zoom call.
A few months ago, I held a Zoom conference with my co-workers who were still in Shanghai. It was during the early days of the virus, and those of us that had remained in China were hurting for cash.
We’re teachers, and schools had already been shut down for weeks because of Chinese New Year. But we had heard the word that schools were remaining closed indefinitely because of the virus, and some of us had no other income.
The Zoom call was my way of reaching out and teaching them my real method for generating income. I’ve never trusted employers because I’m never 100% sure that my employment is safe.
Bad things happen all the time, and employees are fired on a daily basis with absolutely no warning. Because of that, I’ve never counted on the income I generate from employment to pay the bills, instead, I’ve always run online hustles. While I can’t trust employers, I can trust myself to keep money coming in on my own.

The Virus Opened Eyes
Once the virus started to spread, my co-workers were starting to see what I was talking about.
Employment is never safe, so we always need a secondary way of earning income to ensure the money train never stops rolling.
During the Zoom call with my co-workers, I screen-shared my laptop and showed them my process and income on all of my online hustles.
It was the first time ever I’ve opened up my Medium MPP earnings dashboard and showed anyone what my actual earnings are. They were pleasantly surprised, all the while I felt like I was standing in front of a crowd in the nude.
They were able to see why I’m able to live without spending the income I make from my job and suggested that I shared my knowledge with more people.
After that call, we started a group chat on the Chinese social networking app WeChat and kept each other accountable for finding and working monitisable hustles.
One of those co-workers was Mandy, the entrepreneur who’s now making a healthy income stream on Fiverr and was a contributor to the Fiverr workshop.
Because of this Zoom call, I was inspired to share my tips further, but I didn’t want to be shady and charge for it.
Firstly, because charging money for information about how to make money would feel like I’m contributing to the problem. And secondly, because I bought a book written by a certain influential Medium writer about how to be successful on Medium and it was absolute trash.
Instead, I knew the best way for getting the information across would be to post them as a series of articles, and I wasn’t wrong!
The articles attracted a decent number of readers during their first couple of weeks online. In total, the Quarantined Income Workshop series have been viewed a combined 1,974 times with 875 of those people finishing the article they were reading. And in case you were wondering, none of the articles were curated, because of course they weren’t.
Now I’m curious to see now how the series ages, and whether people still get some use out of them once the pandemic is over.

For Writers
If you’re someone that likes to write about money related topics, why not become a writer for Money Clip?
I’m proud to say that Money Clip surpassed 1,000 followers the other day, which I’m really proud of.
I don’t submit any of my articles to enormous publications, because I don’t think doing so leads to any positive results for the writer. (Read my rant here).
So instead, almost 100% of what I write is published through Money Clip or one of my other three publications.
Some people don’t believe that this is the path to royalties; they instead think that attention from the big boys is the only way.
But I’ve been very fortunate to say from personal experience that life-changing royalties can be made through indie publications. I actually think that indie publications are a much safer bet than any of the behemoths.
So if you’d like to become a Money Clip reader, we’d love to have you. We only publish inspiring stories that provide useful information and actionable advice. No nonsense, and no “click here for a FREE EBOOK about how I can harass you for the rest of your life!”
If you’d like to write for Money Clip or one of the other indie pubs I run, let me know.
If you haven’t taken part in the Quarantined Income Workshop series yet, I encourage you to do so!
