The Price of a Choice

One of the most beautiful things we were bestowed with was the freedom to choose.

We use this privilege to choose our first favorite toy. Our favorite crush. And our favorite car. The career. And our life partner. Or not.

But what if our favorite choice turns out to be unfavorable?

What if the job turns out to be a nightmare.

Switch jobs.

What if our favorite partner turns our dreams to dust?

Switch to another or to be alone.

Oh! But what prices we pay!

Costly tears. Lost relationships. Security. Expensive moves. Drained bank accounts.

But let me tell you. Once you recover from the hurt of the cost, you gain wealth.

The wealth of experience. I can do this.

The wealth of new skills. Wow! Hated grammar school. Wanted to be a flight attendant. Avoided English. But here I am.

The joy of making new friends.

The adventure in moving to a new location.

So my two pence? Don’t be afraid to make new choices. You can do this!
