Summary

"The Powerless Girl" is a poem reflecting on the inevitability of natural laws and the inability to alter destiny.

Abstract

The poem "The Powerless Girl" captures the emotional struggle of a girl grappling with her powerlessness against life's unchangeable aspects. As she stands at the threshold, she contemplates the desires of her heart, longing to connect with someone but ultimately accepting the limitations of her influence. The poem progresses with her sitting at the doorway, cleaning the "heart way," which paradoxically leads to a life-altering event. The narrative concludes with her silent acceptance of fate, as she embraces death and becomes a "corpse mark." The poem is a meditation on the human condition, illustrating how despite our desires and actions, we are all subject to forces beyond our control.

Opinions

  • The author, Arbab Zahoor, conveys a sense of futility in the face of nature's laws, suggesting that human emotions and actions are often powerless to change certain outcomes.
  • The poem implies that attempts to confront or alter fate may lead to further despair, as the girl's efforts to "restore" her heart's desires only result in the removal of the "life core."
  • The imagery of doors throughout the poem symbolizes the barriers between the girl's inner world and the external forces that shape her destiny.
  • The author invites readers to reflect on their own powerlessness and to appreciate the writer's work, hinting at a shared human experience through the poem.
  • The poem suggests that acceptance of our limitations might be a path to peace, as the girl's silent embrace of death indicates a resignation to her circumstances.

The Powerless Girl

A rhyme that shows how powerless we are in front of natural laws

She was standing at the door looking at the life indoor She was thinking about the heart store whom she wished to open more

She was standing at the front door blinking at the slid door She wanted to roar as she could not hold furthermore

She looked at the closed door thought about the heart lore whom she wished to restore but failed to do any more

She sat at the doorway and cleaned the heart way that created a roar and removed the life core

She looks silently at the door and embraces the death floor She wraps the life in the dark and becomes a corpse mark
