The Power of the Void
Let the silence succeed

This poem has been written as part of Sahil Patel’s Lifeline’s poetry prompts. Thank you, Sahil for the invite.
Today’s prompt is: Compose a poem inspired by the concept of ‘silence.’ Explore the profound beauty, depth, or even the unease that can be found in moments of quiet and stillness.
The Power of the Void
Let the silence succeed
We live in a fast paced, go getter world, Where we rarely stop or even slow, Busyness a necessity, Where it’s all go, go, go.
However, there is much to be said about quietude, The blessing of the lack of noise, The beauty of the silence, The ability to live with poise.
Meditation of the dark void, A place where our answers hide, In silent suspension, the opposite of our busy lives, The lack of noise, even a whisper denied.
Take the time to wallow, To lay back and enjoy the bliss, The slowing of our life, With errant thoughts to dismiss.
Stillness and quiet time, The essence just to be, The breath quietly exhaled, And the inner senses to see.
Allow the silence of the void, To move you at your own pace, Silently nourishing each individual cell, As you surrender with grace.
Replenish your over anxious soul, With the fortitude of silence, Drown within the nothingness, Until you build up a self reliance.
Shimmy this tool into your arsenal, To be utilised in time of need, Burned out, stressed out, Allow the silence to succeed.
Thank you for reading.
