The Power of Forgiveness
Buddha once said:
“Holding onto your anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.”
I’ve known people in my life who’ve harbored anger and never let go. I wish they knew about the poison they injected into their bodies. I wish they knew more about the power of forgiveness.
I kept wondering why they couldn’t forgive others to make their lives easier. Apparently, they had too much ego to let it go.
I pity those people and wish I could change their minds.
No wonder these people are pessimists and are prone to depressive thoughts. Being angry drains their energy and turns them into slaves to their negative minds.
By clinging to their anger, they’re not hurting another person as much as they’re hurting themselves.
I only hope that one day those who hold on to their anger will embrace the power of forgiveness. Forgiveness is essential for living a happy and fulfilling life.
