Collaborate-Creativity
The Power of Collaboration
Great things happen when we collaborate
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
— Helen Keller
Collaboration is the buzz word in the world today. We hear about collaborations taking place between organisations, groups and individuals. There are authors who collaborate in writing book series. There are artists who collaborate when hosting exhibitions.
There are musicians who collaborate, when they all come together for concerts or to create new albums. Companies come together to collaborate on projects. Groups collaborate on projects for profit-making or for the common good.
“Collaboration is the essence of life. The wind, bees and flowers work together, to spread the pollen.”
— Amit Ray
Why do collaborations happen and why are they so important? Collaborations take place so that resources are joined for a common purpose. A collaboration is important as the best features of two of more organisations, groups, or people are combined to create something of a higher value.
A collaborative enterprise will have a lot more useful and efficient features than one set up by a single organization, group or individual. Every company, group or individual has its own unique resources, skills, talents and technology which are specific to that one brand. However, when two of more companies, groups or individuals come together on a particular enterprise, the resultant product or event, has far greater value to everyone.
“None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful.”
— Mother Teresa
In order to create anything on a larger scale, to create maximum impact and to be able to influence the world at large, it is sometimes necessary to collaborate. Have you thought about collaborating as a writer, artist or musician?
A collaboration is possible, when two or more organizations, groups or individuals feel that they have something in common, and that they can create something much bigger than they could otherwise do on their own. Every individual, group or individual will have his or her strengths and weaknesses. It is this blending of resources, strengths and weaknesses between groups, that will create something of enduring value.
The fruits of any collaborative effort will provide an enriching experience for all who use it. A joint venture between companies to build a housing project will be in a stronger position to offer more features than one built by a single company. A joint venture will attract more investors and revenue.
A joint art exhibition, featuring the works of 50 artists, will be a grander experience for everyone attending the show. A collaborative art-show will draw more of an audience, which will in turn bring in more art buyers. A spurt in imagination and creativity for all involved in a project is also the product of good collaborative efforts.
A collaborative community of writers will result in a more enriching and rewarding experience for all the writers and the readers on the platform. As a writer, have you thought about creating a collaborative project with other writers? A united group is a stronger group, which can provide a richer experience for all who participate and for those who use the product or service.
“Individually we are one drop; but together we are an ocean.”
