The Potential Sale

Phil, a teenage-looking young man with big glasses, was walking with his grocery chart, to the electronic section in the W.E.B grocery store. The area he was around, was crowded with other shoppers walking with their partners or families. He was so happy that he got his favorite cereal & milk. Now he was curious to see what new gadgets were in electronics.

Meanwhile, further down from Phil, was a CT&T booth by the electronics section. Hunter a salesman (With his mountain-man beard) for CT&T was with his partner Steven who was looking on his side for potential customers. Hunter was desperately trying to turn the older gentleman into a sale. He was overwhelming him with lots of questions that weren’t asked with sincerity or concern.

‘’So, how many TV’s do you have’’? Hunter asked. ‘’Uh…two.’’ answered the confused man. ‘’What kind of internet do you have?’’ continued Hunter. ‘’I have….Saturn’’. The man slowly added. ‘’And how much are you paying?’’

The older man was frustrated with Hunter firing question after question — and wanted to storm away from him. But, didn't have it in him to leave in a rude way. He was flustered by Hunter’s bombardment of questions. Hunter's frustration with the older man showed in his facial expression — while trying to maintain a calm demeanor.

Hunter realized that he wasn’t getting anywhere with him, gave up on his sale. ‘’Alright sir, have a good day’’ Hunter told the old man. Hunter rolled his eyes after the man left the scene.

As Phil got closer to his destination, he saw a table out with two salesmen looking around the area for potential sales. Hunter aims his eyes at Phil. He had an evil smile on his face as continued to look at his next prey. Phil was horrified that Hunter was looking at him. He hated CT&T salesmen based on his experiences with them in the past.

But, he couldn’t escape Hunter because it would be too obvious. ‘’I got this one.’’ Hunter thought. He walked up to the unassuming young man in front of him. “Hey there”. Hunter said with glee.

Phil came closer to Hunter with a forced smile on his face. As Hunter walked closer to Phil, to begin the manipulation of a potential sale, Phil vanished in front of his face. Phil & his grocery chart had disappeared. Hunter’s smile quickly turned to worry and bewilderment. And then heavy fear.

His body froze trying to process what just happened in front of his face.

He saw a being appear out of nowhere with grey smoke all around it. The spirit looked like Phil, only a lot older, with a possessed look on its face. Phi’s spirit name was Ekon. Ekon favorite hobby was observing humans.

‘’You thought you had me, didn’t you?’’ Ekon asked.

You really thought you were going to fleece a hard-working human to gain glory from your masters. He left out a heavy laugh at Hunter. ‘’Foolish mortal’’ The spirit disappears again. Hunter was overwhelmed by what he had seen so far. He tried desperately to remain cool as if it didn’t faze him.

‘’Over here’’ Ekon said. This time it was behind Hunter in front of the TVs. And then it vanished again. ‘’Right here’’. Ekon said. ‘’I told you I’m here’’. Ekon continued.

Ekon was enjoying taunting Hunter. He was pushing him to have a panic attack. After a few more seconds of the spirit terrifying his target, Hunter finally cracked and started hollering, with his shell-shocked eyes.

Steven was horrified by the sound he heard. ‘’Hey Hunter man, are you alright?’’ Steven asked. Hunter grabbed Steven's CT&T shirt with both hands and pulled him near him.

It’s there! It’s everywhere! Don’t you see! DO YOU NOT SEE!?!’’ Hunter yelled nervously in Steven’s face.

Steven was frightened of how aggressive Hunter had gotten. The grocery shoppers around them looked at Hunter with confusion and contempt. Several workers in the electronic section came toward them, wondering what the commotion was about. ‘’Everything okay gentleman? ‘’ Steven didn’t know how to respond to that question.

‘’No, everything isn’t okay!’’ Hunter replied harshly. You didn’t see this young guy morph into some being from another world?’’ An edgy Hunter asked. Uh no we didn’t. Are you okay, sir?’’ The nervous W.E.B worker asked. ‘’Oh yeah, I’m very okay. I just saw some freaky creature that’s not human. OF COURSE I'M NOT OKAY! I can’t believe none of you saw it!’’ Hunter yelled.

As Hunter's meltdown continued with his partner & the H.E.B co-workers, another conversation was taken place, far up in the cloudy skies. The scary spirit that gave Hunter grief had been called up by an older spirit named Neron that wasn’t pleasured with its actions.

‘’Why do you keep scaring those CT&T salesmen?’’ Neron asked. ‘’Because they’re scum that likes to get over hard-working humans,’’ Ekon answered. ‘’They don’t even care if they need what they’re selling. They just attack them with questions, until they wear them down and get what they want. So, I figured I scare them — until I wear them down.’’

‘’You keep this up and one of your victims will perish because of you’’ said Neron. Maybe that’s a good thing, then a lot of CT&T workers will quit and get a job in construction. Their city could use some more construction workers.’’ said Ekon. Neron shook his head & disappeared from Ekon. Ekon chuckled and thought about looking for another CT&T salesman to scare.
