The Positive Sides of the COVID-19 Lockdown

Let’s See the Advantages This Situation Could Bring Us!

2020 we are all overwhelmed by the COVID-19 news from everywhere in the world. Several countries around the globe are going into lockdown because of this pandemic. “Can we uninstall 2020, this version has a virus in it”

But, everything in this world has two sides!

In this article, I would like to share the positive side of the pandemic of what advantages it could actually bring you.

1. Better Environment

Researchers found that air pollution has intensified the pandemic. But the lockdown and related measures implemented by countries have also led to a decrease in economic activities and drop-in road transport, temporarily clearing skies, and decreasing levels of certain air pollutants.[1]

The measures to combat the coronavirus have led to an approximately 40% reduction in the average level of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) pollution and a 10% reduction in the average level of particulate matter pollution over the past 30 days, resulting in 11,000 avoided deaths from air pollution. [2]

2. Animals Come Back and Enjoy the Peace

The COVID-19 lockdown could become an unprecedented natural experiment in noise pollution. Some of the world’s most vocal animals — birds and whales — might already be benefiting from a quieter environment. With many cruises suspended, oil freighter traffic impacted by an oil price crash, and rig activity being run by skeleton crews to curve the spread of COVID-19, marine biologists could potentially find a treasure trove of data once they’re allowed to go back into the field.[3]

3. Sleeping More is Getting More
