The Plastic Wrap That Never Gives Us The Joy Of Goodbye

The thin film of plastic wrap on containers

I bought this jar from the market yesterday.

Fabindia is a brand that promotes the consciousness of original and organic products. It promises the best products.

As you can see above this face wash is supposed to be made of turmeric + saffron + marigold.

At night, I usually wash and clean my face before I sleep. This is my routine and I never change it even if I come late from some social occasion.

I had gone out and came late. Now, I tried to open the tube but it would not open.

I was sleepy and I peered here and there and kept pressing at the mouth of the jar but it would not open.

I was wondering what to do at that time of the night.

I inspected it closely and found that there was a very fine thin plastic wrap that covered the tube.

I tried to remove this plastic wrap (stretch film) but it would not budge. I managed to find a little piece of the plastic which I began to pull.

What happened?

I cut my finger but the tube did not open becaue of the almost is visible wrap.

Then I found a pair of scissors.

That was a good relief.

I put the scissor inside the thin plastic wrap that was as fine as a hair and tried to dig deep with the scissors and it took me 15 minutes more to finally open it.

The face wash was excellent. I loved the experience of washing my face imagining the turmeric and marigold on my face.

Turmeric contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory components. They help to bring a glow to the skin.

Saffron has many medicinal, antibacterial, and pharmacological properties. It helps to remove acne, pigmentation, and inflammation. It has many antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals for a good skin tone.

Marigold is used to treating inflammation, and dryness of the skin. Its essential oil and distilled floral water are effective and reduce damage caused by UV radiation.

Dear lovely readers,

Tell me what you felt after reading this story.

Do you think, it is fair of these large companies that project themselves to be saviors of our earth by believing in sustainable products should continue to use wrappers made of plastic to cover the containers or they should find alternative solutions?

An important message for all the readers is to save the planet.

Help mother earth by not using plastic in food, cosmetics, clothes, and everything else.

To conclude

The manufacturers are already packing products in plastic jars, bottles, and tubes. As a step to save the planet at least they should not use plastic material to wrap the already packaged material. We will save a lot of plastic and surely small efforts matter.

These are some alternatives that can be used and the advantage will be that they will not cut or cause injury while opening a jar or a tube and these materials will also reduce the consumption of plastics.

  • Woven Sack
  • Jute Bags
  • Paper Bags
  • Mushroom packaging
  • Seaweed packaging
  • Ecological textile packaging

What are your thoughts on this subject? Has someone seen any personal care products like shampoos, face wash, and body lotion without any plastic packaging or plastic wrap above it?
