The Petty People
They may stab you, but you don’t have to die
They spend their time Dissecting those around them Not as a scientist who relies on facts But as a murderer, hacking pieces from live bodies.
They mutilate character, And ruin good names, All in the name of personal entertainment, And an unholy bonding with the like-minded.
They never look in mirrors, To see true visions of themselves, Or maybe they do, And want to forget that memory.
Do not dismay, You the victims of the petty, Their cold hearts are numb, Their destiny a hell of their own making.
Kim McKinney learned long ago that she didn’t have time for the petty. Her goal for their victims is for them to see and own their powerful goodness in a non-distorted mirror. Her goal for the petty is not necessarily that they get what they are due, but instead, they learn to value and respect that goodness.
