The Perfect Cure For When Your Business Project Grinds To a Halt
and the questions to ask before you start
Look at any successful business owners and they display many traits.
They show dedication, take massive action and almost tunnel like vision.
And I guess you’re like many business owners, you start with great intention and then …
… stuck, stagnation, procrastination and lose interest.
It’s a universal experience.
· You have a light bulb moment
· You speak with a few esteemed colleagues
· You test the water
· Boom! Your idea is now a reality
A short while later you lose interest and wonder why?
Sound familiar?
I see many coaches and trainers grinding to a halt midway through a project.
One of the key reasons is your motivation.
Motivation can take you to your goal or, away from the thing you want to escape.
If it’s the latter, after a while you stop taking action. You’ve done enough and you’re far enough away.
And that’s when the disillusion sets in.
The Perfect Cure for keeping motivated on a project
So here are five simple questions that make the perfect cure to make sure you should, start the project.
Let’s get started.
Question #1: How does this project help fulfil you vision
Your compelling vision is your big destination and your compass heading. Without it you’d be like a ship without a port to sail to.
Question #2: For what purpose do you want to start this project?
In other words, what will this project enable you to do or enable you to have. I cover this and how to achieve your business goals in the Achievable Goals Quick Start Guide.
Question #3: When you compete this, what will you get.
By the same token, what won’t you get when you complete it?
Question #4: What’s important to you about doing this?
Make a list of 5–6 things that are important to you in this part of your life or the project.
Question # 5: What’s your direction of motivation?
Are you motivated towards completing the project or away from something else?
Bonus Tip
If the answer to any of those questions are blank, ambiguous or vague it may be time to rethink and re-evaluate.
