The Penniless Young Man Married the Princess (Part-1)
Once upon a time, there was a kingdom. A prophet in that kingdom was very popular. Most of his prophecies became true, so the king always welcomed his prophecies and trusted his prophecies a lot. In fact, he was the reason that this kingdom stood strong against all the odds.
One day the fortune-teller said, “your majesty, your daughter is going to marry a wise man, who belongs to a poor family in the future.”
For some reason, the king didn’t like the thought of marrying his daughter to a poor man, so he ordered his soldiers to slaughter every poor baby in the kingdom. According to the king’s order, soldiers did their job.
Knowing this heart-wrenching news, the fortune-teller quit his job and left the kingdom; however, the fortune-teller knew the king can’t change destiny, so he didn’t tell his king anything further.
The very next day, a baby was born in a poor family. Meanwhile, the king didn’t know about this news. He thought he got rid of that poor baby in his kingdom.
After 25 years, the king saw the fortune-teller somewhere and asked him what was the reason behind his sudden departure from the kingdom.
“Because of my profession, so many poor newborns and children got killed that day, and I couldn’t digest that, so I departed from the kingdom that day,” said the fortune-teller.
“Well, for better or for worse, because of you I saved my daughter’s life that day,” said the king.
The fortune-teller said, “no, you are wrong, sire. The very next day a baby was born in a poor family, and he will become your son-in-law, and this is destiny and you can’t change it.”
The king was in disbelief for a while, and then he went to his kingdom and commanded his officials to know about this particular man. His officials probed everywhere, and finally, they came to know about this particular boy’s details.
King’s officials informed his king about this boy’s whereabouts. The very next day he went to that boy’s house and met him.
The king saw the boy in his house and asked him, “what is your name, young fellow?”
“My name is Praveen, your excellency,” said the young man.
The king said, “I want you to do me a favor, young man. Go and give this letter to the queen.”
“Yes, your majesty,” said the young man.
The young man started his journey. He walked for a long time and got tired, so he decided to take some rest. He noticed one house on his way and wanted to take some rest in that house. He saw one old woman in that house and requested her to give him some space to take shelter for that night.
“This is the burglars’ house, and it is not safe for you to stay here,” she said.
The young man said, “it’s okay — I have got nothing in my bag to steal other than a letter from the king.”
“Okay,” she said.
By nightfall, everyone in the house was sleeping, and thieves barged into the house and searched the bag of the young man, and they found a letter.
In the letter, it was written that the queen should kill the young man after they receive this letter from the young man.
The thieves couldn’t believe it, so they changed the letter and left the house.
The next morning, the young man resumed his walk, and finally, he reached the palace.
He delivered that letter to the Queen. In the letter, it was written that the young man who brought this letter is the bridegroom for his daughter and he should marry his daughter. According to the king’s order, the queen married her daughter to the young man.
The king came to know about this. Immediately, he reached the palace and saw what had just happened. The king couldn’t believe that the handwriting was similar to his handwriting, and he questioned the young man about it.
He said, “I don’t know. It might have changed at night when thieves came to the house.”
The king said, “if I have to accept you as my son-in-law, then you have to bring me three golden hair strands from the monster, who is living in a cave far away from the palace.”
“Okay, I will get it,” the young man said without any hesitation.
And he started his journey to the monster’s cave.
