The Opportune Moment Is Now

If you are waiting for the right moment, start now.

Of course, this is more of a general motivational post and I am not encouraging you to take high-risk investments (please speak with a financial planner to guide you). This short article is to motivate you to plan for your goals and take action.

This is also coming from someone who used to wish for the right opportunities but would never take the steps to get those opportunities.

Examples:

I wanted to be more confident in myself, to get better at communication, and to write.

Yet, after years of wishing, I was too afraid to find ways to publish my work anywhere. I was scared that no one would read my works because I believed what others told me.

As a result, I never wrote.

When I was starting my sales career in my early 20s, I wished to be better in sales and to be more confident in myself. However, I was reluctant to approach anyone and to take action that would help me get better at it.

Everything was a wish. A dream.

I always waited for an opportunity that surely would never come because I was too scared to be rejected, or I kept thinking that I was not good enough to do it, or because I also did not want to set time aside to learn.

As I get older, I realize that you cannot gain confidence if you never take action. You cannot learn if you’re too afraid to make mistakes. You cannot gain more insight if you are too reluctant to ask someone to guide you.

You cannot grow if you are too afraid to step out of your comfort zone.

Don’t wait for the right moment to come because it never will. Don’t leave your goals at some arbitrary time and imaginary moment.

You decide when is the right time, and most likely, that time is now.
