The One Who Has No Control Over His Desires — Has No Control Over His Mind:

Allah has created man in a world of Trials and Tests, and He has made Paradise the abode of His friends and beloved ones — who preferred His pleasure over their own and preferred obedience to Him over their physical comfort.
And He has made Hell the abode of those among His slaves who disobey Him and prefer their own whims and desires to the pleasure of their Lord.
Allah says:“Such is the Paradise which We shall give as an inheritance to those of Our slaves who have been Al-Muttaqoon (the pious)”. (Maryam 19:63)
A Few points For reducing and weakening the things that may provoke desire in a person:
· Lowering the gaze and refraining From looking at that which Allah has Forbidden.
Allah says:“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (From looking at Forbidden things), and protect their private parts.” (An-Nur 24:31).
The Prophet (saw) said: “Do not Follow one glance with another, For the First [unintentional one] is pardoned but not the second.”
To strengthen the Factors that will prevent one from acting in accordance with one’s desires. This is achieved in a number of ways, including the following:
· Strengthening the Faith in one’s heart and strengthening one’s relationship with Allah — This may be achieved by remembering Allah a great deal, reading the Quran, thinking of the Names and Attributes of Allah, and doing a lot of Sunnah prayers.
Belief strengthens the heart and soul, and it helps one to resist Temptation.
So,the point is that — Allah(swt) has told man how to control his desires. If a man's desires cannot be Fulfilled in a legitimate way, then he will restrain himself in a Forbidden way For the sake of Allah(swt) and will be entitled to reward instead.
It is very important to keep our thoughts pure to keep our desires under control.
May Allah(swt) include us among His Submissive and Obedient servants. (Ameen).
