COVID-19
The One Where I Excoriate Anti-Maskers and Anti-Vaxxers
We’re all tired of your bullshit

We are sleepwalking through an endless nightmare.
It’s sort of like a nightmare or a bad horror movie, but worse—even those have endings —but for us, there seems to be no end in sight.
We are suffocating, figuratively and literally. Faced with the worst public health crisis this country has seen in over a century, we’ve totally blown any chance we may have had to put an end to it. It just keeps getting worse.
Hospitals are at or over capacity. Makeshift ICUs are being set up in parking garages. Makeshift morgues are too. The healthcare system is collapsing. It’s time to point the finger at those who are to blame for this. It’s time to stop mollycoddling idiots. They’re going to get us all killed.
Through common sense and the miracle of modern science, we‘ve been provided with some effective tools to combat the deadly virus that’s ravaging our population at an increasingly alarming rate. Yet, a substantial portion of this country’s population refuses to do even the bare minimum to help us get out of this mess we’re in.
Republican leadership, at every level of government—federal, state, and local—has failed us as they’ve actively politicized the issue of public health that is, by nature, not political. I’m old enough to remember when staying alive wasn’t a political statement.
If you are reading this in 2021, this isn’t news to you. If you’re reading this years into the future, you may be asking yourself the following question:
“Why the fuck would they do that?”
And that would be the appropriate question to ask. A majority of us today are asking ourselves the same thing: why the fuck would they do that?
It all started when stupid people in this stupid country bought into the stupid lies of a stupid con man.
If we’re looking to point the finger at any one person who started all this shit, look no further than wanna-be dictator and lifelong bastard Donald J. Trump, the worst president in American history, otherwise known as Cheeto Hitler, Agolf Twitler, Orange Mussolini. Installed as a puppet by Russia (Hillary was right) and held up, continuously enabled and emboldened by a wickedly corrupt GOP, he is the first son of a bitch who started the politicization of wearing masks and getting vaccinated, things that up to this time, were never political.
All the little Republican piggies — who are too many to name — that feed at Trump’s golden trough are reprehensible, vile bootlicking scum who share in this blame. They chose to hitch their wagons to Trump and line their own pockets (and those of their fat-cat donors) rather than do the right thing and help the American people they were supposedly elected to serve and protect. What a fucking joke every one of them turned out to be.
Every last one of them has the blood of hundreds of thousands of Americans on their traitorous, corrupt, greedy hands.
A host of others also share a part in the making of this pandemic atrocity. The racist, nazi scum of Fox News like Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity. Monsters, all of them. Mark Zuckerberg allowed the rampant dissemination of disinformation and conspiracy theories to propagate to millions of gullible Americans via Facebook. The CDC with their constant and confusing mixed messaging. The list goes on and on.
No one supportive of the modern-day Republican party is blameless. No one.
This brings us back around to the stupid people of America. You know, “we the people?”
Perhaps you’ve noticed that we live amongst some knuckle-dragging levels of stupid, selfish-ass, entitled, uneducated, egotistical, ignorant motherfuckers in this country.
If I sound angry, I’m not. I’m fucking livid. I’m so far beyond angry, I can’t describe it. There are just no words.
Every day, I see headlines about people dying by the thousands. They didn’t have to die. I see headlines about children catching this fucking thing and dying. They didn’t have to. Videos of innocent babies on ventilators, gasping for breath, clinging to life, all because selfish, fucking dumbass rednecks in this country won’t do their part.
What kind of heinous monster do you have to be to tout your “freedom” as being more important than the lives of children?
If this is you — and I deeply, sincerely mean this — fuck you. Fuck your freedom. Fuck your uninformed opinions. Fuck your willful ignorance. And absolutely, unreservedly, fuck your arrogance. You don’t deserve the freedom you’re afforded. You don’t deserve to be tolerated. You don’t deserve anything less than utter disdain and unanimous rejection.
You don’t deserve this country.
Like it or don’t, we live in a society, and societies have rules. You may be free to kill yourself, but you have no right to kill others.
You won’t wear a mask in public? You’re a stupid, selfish asshole.
You won’t get vaccinated? You’re a stupid, selfish asshole.
You attack people who wear masks in public? You’re a stupid, selfish asshole.
You attack the very healthcare workers who will be there to save your dumb ass when you inevitably get sick and can’t breathe without their assistance? You’re a stupid, selfish asshole.
If you don’t get the vaccine, you shouldn’t go to the hospital when you get sick. If you don’t trust medical professionals, grow a pair and own the stupid stance you’ve taken. Stay home if you get sick.
Too many unvaccinated idiots are ending up in the hospital, taking away resources that should be dedicated to others. People are still having heart attacks and strokes. People are still being hurt in accidents. They deserve to get treatment. You deserve to wait your fucking turn. If you die before receiving treatment, remember, it was your stupid decision to remain unvaccinated. Other people shouldn’t suffer just because you make shitty life choices.
Oh, and if Jesus is your vaccine, don’t go to the hospital when you can’t breathe — go to a church. I’d argue that if you believe in Jesus, you must also believe that you were blessed with a brain. Use it.
Some of us have been doing our part since the very beginning. We never walk out our door without a mask on. We got the vaccine the very instant we were able to. We put distance between ourselves and others when we must go out to the grocery store, the pharmacy, the gas station, the post office, the doctor’s office. We wash our hands excessively. We avoid large, public gatherings like the plague, as we all should.
We understand the importance of doing this. We understand the science. We understand what it means to care for someone other than ourselves. We comprehend the consequences of our actions and how they affect others around us. We don’t want to be responsible for anyone getting sick or dying because we didn’t take proper precautions.
But, despite doing all the right things, we too are somehow getting sick. Breakthrough infections are happening. Vaccines provide us with enough protection to keep most of us from hospitalization, but shit happens. Some people will still require serious medical intervention. Some people will still die. We’re unknowingly getting infected and bringing it home to our families, our children, and ultimately we have no guarantee that just because we’ve done all we can that we won’t also suffer.
This is bullshit.
It’s not our fault. It’s the anti-masker’s fault. It’s the anti-vaxxer’s fault. It’s the fault of the stupid people who still think it’s a hoax. It’s the fault of the selfish people who can’t be bothered to wear a goddamn mask for 10 minutes inside the grocery store because it infringes on their “personal freedom.” It’s the morons who won’t take a vaccine 20 years in the making but will drink bleach or ingest deworming medicine intended for cattle.
The epic levels of stupidity are just too much.
We don’t have to tolerate, much less respect, your opinion if your opinion is fucking stupid. If your views are based on abject bullshit, you can shove them up your ass. We don’t want to hear them. Nobody wants to hear them We don’t care what you think. We’re so tired of all this shit we could scream. This is me screaming right now.
If all this idiocy wasn’t killing us, it’d be laughable. It sounds like the weird plot of a bad movie. It’s not. It’s our bleak reality, brought to you courtesy of every single motherfucker who hasn’t stepped up and done their part.
I am not the only one who lives in constant fear that someone in my family will get sick and die. I worry especially for my 14-month-old son, too little to get a vaccine, too little to know what’s going on. I worry that my wife or I will get taken away from him or that he will get taken away from us. It’s happening to families all over the place, and we aren’t any more special, or any safer than any of those poor, unfortunate people were. So far, we’re just lucky.
So yeah, for me, this is very fucking personal, and we are all very fucking tired of this shit. I don’t want anyone to suffer, to get sick, or to die. But if we don’t begin mandating vaccines, and refusing entry or service to those who aren’t vaccinated or who won’t wear a mask, eventually, we will all needlessly suffer.
Sadly, the burden of fighting for what’s right lies with those of us who believe the science, trust doctors, and look out for others. We have to rail against the onslaught of ill-informed, misinformed, disinformed, uninformed people in our communities, our schools, our local businesses, our government.
It’s a shitty job, but somebody’s got to do it. Our other option is to give up and die. I don’t accept this as a viable option.
I really hope that you don’t either.
I welcome responses on this, but I’m not looking for debate and so help me god, if you leave an ignorant or rude response, I will block you faster than the Delta variant can infect you.
