Are you a writer who likes to write on political topics and world events? If you’re looking for a specific pub to submit your articles to, look no further. The Politically Speaking pub is one of the best and most supportive pubs on Medium.

Before I go into details and say how incredibly supportive this pub has been of my writing, I should mention that writing about the world and politics weren’t my niche topics from the beginning. But since the war in Ukraine started, I felt compelled to write about Ukraine and offer my opinions and perspectives on the topic. So I’ve been writing and contributing my articles to Politically Speaking since then.

For me, it was a huge transition because as I mentioned before I had not been writing on those topics before the conflict in Ukraine emerged and had been focusing on articles within my niche, which are health, productivity, and writing.

Trying a new niche can help you grow

Writing about the war in Ukraine has proved to be a huge learning experience for me. I learned, researched, and gained new knowledge about the topic.

From my experience, I learned that writers shouldn’t limit themselves to writing in just one niche. Many writers are afraid to try out a new niche for fear of failure.

I say dare try out a new niche. You can only grow by trying something new. Stepping out of your comfort zone will help you grow as a writer.

If you’re passionate about a particular topic but feel you don’t know enough about it, you can always research it to get more facts and ideas. Writing about the war in Ukraine has helped me deepen my understanding of world events. I became better at researching topics and concepts that I wasn’t familiar with, which helped me in fleshing out my articles. It also helped me figure out an angle from which I wanted to write my story.
