The author describes a carefree summer day that led to a deep and enduring relationship, symbolized by their shared love for the ocean. The Ocean

We met on a summer’s day. We had fun in the ocean, and after our skin burned in the rays, we walked along the main road decided on a small bar with cheap beer and air-con. Round 2, then 3, then 5 years later, we walked down an aisle of love and vows united families and friends who loved us, but it’s you and I who flew to the sky, abandoned reality for our Universe until we were reminded of our humanity.

Can you see the way the light shines on me down from the heavens? Would you believe I’ve got an angel always smiling on me?

I come back to the ocean we met and played in once a year; that’s all I can take. I miss you. Life is a cruel thing, but I know you watch over me, and I’m so thankful to have known you. Even though it was too short, please rest well with the ocean. See you next year ~
