The Obituaries of January*
Mr. Randall Evans… April 30, 1954— January 31, 2020

The Evans family of Cheston Road sadly announced the death of their beloved Randall Evans this morning. Mr. Evans has been struggling with hypertension and diabetes for the past ten years. However, according to the family’s doctor, Dr. Woodson Alexander, the cause of death was severe renal shutdown.
Although Mr. Evans was born in Washington DC, his parents had come to this country from Ghana in the 1940s when his father, Winslow Evans, worked with the State Department in partnership with various economic think tanks seeking to improve Ghana’s financial standing in the world.
Mr. Evans attended Georgetown University and went on to work with some of the top engineering firms on the east coast before being courted by Alloran International. He and Angelina Meyers met at an engineering conference in Mobile, Alabama in 1972 and were soon seeing each other exclusively. They wed in Washington, DC in 1974.
Mr. and Mrs. Evans moved to this area in 1976 when Randall was recruited by Alloran International as an engineer. Mrs. Evans began serving All Souls Methodist Church as a lay practitioner soon after they moved here and quickly made a place for herself in the church and the wider community. While directing the choir, she attended seminary and was named Reverend at All Souls in 1993. Their children, Harold, Quincy, Maeve, and Frederick, all graduated at the top of their classes in college. Quincy, Maeve, and Frederick have all married and their children, Mr. Evans’ grandchildren, were the light of his life.
Funeral arrangments are underway and the family will announce the details as they become available. They welcome the company of Mr. and Mrs. Evans’ many friends at this time.
