It is with great sorrow that the family of Annabel “Lee” Grainger announced the death of their beloved daughter and sister. The cause of death was leukemia which Ms. Grainger has been battling since she was seven years old.

Ms. Grainger was a voracious reader who gave herself the nickname Anabelle Lee after reading the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe in middle school. Her older sister, Marisa, remembers finding her little sister hiding behind the family piano and reading poetry out loud. Ms. Grainger always had a vivid imagination and began dressing in unusual ways early in her life. Her parents, Marvin and Doreen Grainger encouraged her reading and flights of fantasy seeing these as a powerful counter to the difficulties of dealing with painful and invasive cancer treatments.

The family has announced there will be visiting hours at Blessed Respite Funeral Home on Rt 9 over the weekend and services will be held on January 9 at Friends Meeting House in Plymouth Meeting.
