The Obituaries of January*
Ms. Renee Jackson …… July 22, 1984 — January 19, 2020

It is with great sorrow that the family of Ms. Renee Jackson has announced her death due to complications following the birth of her third child, a boy. Mr. Arthur Jackson, Ms. Jackson’s husband and Mr. Matthew Stern, her father made the announcement to the Tribune this morning.
The Jackson family moved to our area five years ago when Mr. Jackson was named executive director of Morning Star Solutions, Inc., a local leader in technologically advanced security systems for large businesses. The family, however, has connections here including Ms. Jackson’s parents and siblings who were thrilled to welcome the family to town. Ms. Jackson, a valedictorian at her high school graduation, went on to earn her BA in early childhood education, became certified to teach, and continued her work here as an educator in special education at Davis Elementary School.
Ms. Jackson met her husband-to-be while they were both serving in Teach For America in Decatur, Alabama. After their terms with Teach for America, Mr. Jackson found work in nearby Reynoldsville with a small technology firm while Ms. Jackson went on to earn her Masters in educational theory. Shortly after they married, Mr. Jackson was recruited by a larger company in Albany and the young family moved there for several years.
In Albany, Ms. Jackson worked for the Albany public school system and had the couple’s first two children, Penny and Joan. Penny was named after Mr. Jackson's mother and Joan was named for Ms. Jackson’s grandmother.
The family will gather to remember the life of their beloved and too-soon-gone Renee at Murphy’s Funeral Home this coming Tuesday, January 21 with the funeral services being held Thursday, January 22nd.
