Although the current education system is obsolete, it teaches you one practical skill to thrive in the digital economy — writing.
Writing is the most essential skill in the digital economy. We all write copy daily. But without monetizing your writing, you leave money on the table.
It does not mean you have to be a professional writer. But if you want to be successful in any niche, you need strong writing skills.

Every aspect of making money needs a copy
It doesn't matter what your profession is, but if you want to make money, that requires producing a copy daily.
And if you are still not monetizing your writing, somebody else will. This is no longer a secret.
The sooner you start, the better because your competitors improve writing with every piece of content.
Attention is a new currency in the sea of digital content. And you need to stand out to get eyeballs on your content.
The most effective way to differentiate yourself is by being unique and creating your niche. This way, you become the top voice instead of constantly competing with others.
Learn
YouTube and the Internet are great resources for finding free courses. There are many types of copy. Depending on your goals, focus on what you need.
Learn as much as possible, but do not dwell forever in this phase. You will never improve your skills just by learning.
Many paid courses are available, but my favorite is High Impact Writing. It teaches everything you need about successful writing in a digital economy.
Practice
Write every day. And be very specific about your writing goals.
A goal like improving your writing skills is not specific enough. Aim for writing a specific number of words or pages every day.
For example, I will write 1000 words daily for the next 90 days, is a specific and measurable goal.
Medium is an excellent place to start, as you can write about any topic and improve your writing skills.
Quora and Reddit are also great places to start. Find spaces (on Quora) or subreddits on Reddit related to your interests and engage with your communities.
Answer questions and be proactive. That way, you will build your writing skills, authority, and community around your interests and goals.
Treat your writing like a business
Monetizing your writing skills may take some time, from a few months to a few years. It depends on your knowledge, skills, and ability to learn and adjust to a new economy.
The highest earners in the industry are not necessarily the best writers but the ones who know how to sell, position and promote themselves.
Like in any business, think about your writing goals in the long term. You can build up your business directly associated with writing (like becoming a ghostwriter or copywriter) or, like most people, use writing as an invaluable and essential skill in your niche or business.
You can initially offer your skills for free to build up your confidence, experience, and authority. But never sell yourself short, even when you are a beginner.
Everyone must start somewhere, and even the best-paid writers were beginners. Remember this.
Treating writing like a business means constantly improving, learning, and investing in training.
