The Not so Long Road to Financial Freedom
Financial freedom is not unobtainable if you simplify the steps on getting there

Imagine not having to worry about money.
It doesn’t matter when you started or how old you are.
Financial freedom is a goal many of us aspire to and you want to get there.
It’s the reason you clicked this article and thank you for doing so.
Achieving it requires discipline, knowledge, and strategic planning. It’s a journey that is about exploring various avenues for income generation, and adopting a lifestyle that aligns with ultimate goal of being financially free.
Starting a Business
Entrepreneurship is an avenue toward financial freedom.
Starting a business allows you to capitalize on your passions and skills, working for yourself and not someone else. I do both.
However, success in starting your own business demands more than a great idea.
You need a solid business plan, dedication, resilience, and the ability to ride it out.
What are your passions? What are you good at? What have you always wanted to do?
This can be run alongside your 9–5, which is what I do.
Day Trading
If you have read any of my articles you will know I am a part-time day trader.
Day trading is often glamourized as a quick route to wealth, but it requires a deep understanding of the markets, a solid strategy, and an emotional discipline that is difficult to adopt.
It’s not merely about making fast money; it’s about making smart decisions.
If you are interest, read some of my previous articles on Day Trading
Successful day traders are those who treat it as a business, investing time in continuous learning and risk management. While day trading offers significant potential for profit, it also comes with high risks, making it essential to only invest money you can afford to lose.
Learn, Learn and Learn
Everything is changing. What was useful 10 years ago is now maybe obsolete today and the value of continuously learning new skills cannot be overstated, enough.
Whether it’s acquiring knowledge in day trading, learning how to code, or developing people skills, investing in your education can open new doors for career advancement and income generation.
Online courses, YouTube, and traditional education methods make it easier than ever to enhance your skill set and learn something new.
This will make you more competitive in the job market and better positioned to move up a ladder in your current job or push that business along a bit more.
Save
Anyone that says you don’t become financially free by saving is in a mountain of debt.
The importance of saving cannot be overlooked.
It’s about living within your means and setting aside a portion of your income for the future. Creating and sticking to a budget is essential. Identify areas where you can cut back, and prioritize your financial goals.
An emergency fund is also critical, providing a safety net that can help you navigate unforeseen financial challenges without derailing your path to financial freedom. This part is critical.
How often do you build savings only for someone to crash into the back of your car, uninsured.
Invest, smart
Investing is where you build your financial independence. It involves putting your money into assets that have the potential to earn returns over time, such as stocks, bonds, property, or funds.
If you have a bit of money aside, I would advise you to speak to a professional.
Understanding the basics of the stock market, the principles of compound interest, and the importance of risk tolerance can help you but in the end, a professional will bring it down to layman’s terms for you.
Minimalism
You don’t need a new iPhone EVERY year.
Minimalism isn’t just a design aesthetic; it’s a lifestyle choice that can significantly impact your financial well-being.
Focus on what truly matters and eliminate excess from your life.
Reduce expenses, save more, and invest in experiences and assets that bring genuine value.
Minimalism encourages mindful spending, helping you avoid unnecessary debt and accumulate wealth. It’s about making deliberate choices that enhance your life’s quality without compromising your financial future.
It’s ok to treat yourself every once in a while, god knows how hard you’ve worked for it.
Be smart.
The road to financial freedom is most certainly a journey. Unless you get an inheritance.
