The New Year Excitement

Poetry Prompt: What are you excited for in 2021?

Starting the new year on a golden note, Goodbye to 2020 which jerked the world, Hoping for a friendly meeting without masks, Meeting each other normally with love.

The new year brings forth an excitement, High spirits and positive energy Showering of love with hugs, Meeting without fear of sickness.

Happiness and peace for all, A promise of a new day, The peaceful morning sunrise, With the promise of fresh innings.

The year 2020 was called the new normal as everyone began to work from home and stayed in isolation.

The change of date to 2021 suddenly brings excitement to me. It is a promise of a fresh start and a new day for everyone in their lives.

I expect to be back with friends and meet people happily without fear of disease. The development of vaccine brings hopes and promises of a new start in the world.
