If you spend more time sitting inside home and not getting exposed to you outside environment, it might affect your health. There are many scientific research papers on the benefit of sunlight to our health. With low Vitamin D level, there are multiple other effects on your body. If not corrected with natural way, you will have to depend on the tablets.
