The New Green Acres Story

City Slicker to Country Girl

This article was written by my hubby, and I am only re-writing it for publication.

“Let's start off by saying for those of you what are wondering what “Green Acres” is, Google It.

Now the beginning of the story. My wife, (aka Lisa), and my name is (aka Oliver) came from a city in Massachusetts and moved to a two-horse town in Northern Pennsylvania, which was a huge change for my wife.

The local thought process is here, and I quote, “If we can put it off till tomorrow, we can do it the day after”. Our community we live in is all farmland which my wife was very surprised with. There are no Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks withing 30 miles, (God help me).

We have a grand total of 2000 people in our township and more than 20,0000 cows (oh sh*t). we now live off the local produce, veggies, cheese, milk, and yes fresh meat. My wife always thought that any type of meat was grown on a Styrofoam container, and now she knows that Molly takes a ride on a Monday and shows back up on Saturday (for dinner). She is not wearing a skirt. (Get the picture?)

We have been here for two years and loving it. We never knew how much farmers work to provide meat for us. A lot of bartering around here.

Long story short, we don’t have to climb a pole to answer a phone, but country life is better than city hustle and bustle of horns blowing, and people swearing at you for not parking correctly at Dunkin or Starbucks!

Thank you for clapping, commenting, or even subscribing to this article. I appreciate anyone who stay here until the end of the article!
