The New Black Woman Has a Very Bright Future
Her dating options, career options, and even spiritual beliefs are shifting for the better
Gone are the days where Black women were gaslit to think something was wrong with us and thus believing we are the(only) reason why communities are broken and ran over and neglected.
Gone are the days where we felt we couldn’t better ourselves out of fear of what the community thinks.
Gone are the days where we believed the pastor’s words were law.
The New Black Woman has emerged from the sludge of hypocrisy, misogynoir, and anything else negative. The New Black Woman has heard she was dirty, not pretty enough, not quiet enough or not LOUD enough. She has battled on social media for a spotlight of worth and found that her skin was not light enough for a million clicks and likes.
Men with her shade of coloring has told her that “he is not like that” but his fingers still itch for someone other than HER.
The New Black Woman has posted up article after article, video after video, begging and pleading for people to understand that she has been the mule on the chain. She’s made song after song about “Black Brotha”, “Brown Skin”, U.N.I.T.Y., and poetry praising the man who looks like her, only to be told “Yellow Bone is what he wants”, or “toast to the mixed kids” or, “love your own self”, or she risked being called a “B&#ch.”
The New Black Woman may be the one who was raised in church. Told lies that even if her husband abuses her and cheats on her , God wants her to stay in that mess.
So where does the New Black Woman stand now?
The New Black Woman now knows she can read a bible for herself, or ditch it all together for a new type of spiritualty. A cleansing, all GREEN lifestyle filled with meditation and psalms. Poetry of light. Surrounding herself with friends or pets who love her just as SHE IS.
If she is a Believer in God’s Word(like I am), she reads with a new comprehension. An unfolding of light and clarity will hit her and she does not need to pay tithes for this wealth of hope.
The New Black Woman is not letting her past dictate her future, rather she is learning from the past and using it as a shadow of what NOT to go back to. The New Black Woman is climbing, emerging from behind the cruddy walls of slander, laziness, and petty jealousies. She no longer wants to live her life “taking other people’s men”, she is not DEFINED by a man at all. She now understands that if he can cheat with her, he will cheat ON her.
If she desires a mate, she has her options open to include the RIGHT man for her and it will not be based on his culture/color. She understands that men of other colors can be just as degrading, which is why she will be more discerning.
The New Black Woman is no longer influenced by Decepticons telling her that after all of her woes and hard work, she still needs to do MORE! MORE! MORE! The New Black Woman is no longer gaslit by this. She understands that everyone’s Destiny is charted by their own reaping and sowing. She has a pure, kind heart but is astute and fierce as a lioness when need be.
She understands that everyone will not like her — and that is quite alright. She understands that even when she is nice and supportive, people will continue to say that she isn’t — she is okay with this too.
The New Black Woman is a force to be reckoned with because she can’t be understood. Her slow awakening is actually a knife to the gut of the butt hurt who wants her to be loud, ghetto, and broken in spirit. It is painful for the devil to watch a Queen rise, because she is no longer affected by what mortals think.
They are mortal and bleed red.
Just like her.
So, rise New Black Woman. Take your place in the world as someone washed anew. A diamond that hid in the rough neck of the earth, and now shaped by all your pain.
