The New Army

Will it Fight? And if it Does, will it be based on “Critical Race Theory? Equitable or with Equality tenets?

We now know how to start wars, we just don’t know how to finish them. it is all just, “our” hard earned money they don’t know they are spending.

The Last Army and the Industrial Complex

The last Army fought Iraq and Afghanistan. An example of the duty of fighting soldiers was magnified by the battle of Kamdesh in October 3, 2009. It is called “A Day of Heroes,”(like D-Day). It happened at Combat Outpost (COP) Keating when a force of 300–400 Taliban relentlessly, for 12 hours, attacked 53 Soldiers from Bravo Troop, 3rd Squadron 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division.

The question boils down to, why for 12 hours?

In March 27, 2009, President Obama announced “A New American Strategy” for Afghanistan. Along side of him was Richard Holbrooke, Special Envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan, at the State Department in Washington. The “Strategy” (actually a new tactic to a strategy-less war), was supposed to link success in Afghanistan to a stable Pakistan. It was to “disrupt, dismantle, and defeat al Qaeda and its safe havens in Pakistan, and to prevent their return to Pakistan or Afghanistan.” Money was sent to Pakistan (they never say no to that), alongside with “strict standard of metrics for progress in fighting al-Qaeda and the Taliban. To ensure success 4,000 more soldiers were sent to “train” the Afghan Army and Police Force. Well, TODAY we all know how well received this plan was.

Long term success is the sum total of short term success. Our well trained Soldiers with strategic air support may have had short term success, but the hold and wait tactics failed long term success. Hold and wait will NEVER win against a determined enemy that is not afraid to die for a cause and has Geography on their side for hit and run. In Vietnam it was the jungle and terrain that was easy to excavate, in Afghanistan it was the Mountainous terrain.

Our failed tactical war methods were proven in Vietnam, what made the Brass think it would work here? It has to do with the incompetence (overpromise and underdeliver), false pride and carelessness from the upper echelon Brass, who think men are expendable (it’s their assumption going in for “Professional Soldiers”); they think our forces are invincible because money is infinite; and they get “paid” to make “the tough decisions.” But…they don’t live THROUGH those decisions do they? They get to go home and have coffee at headquarters, and at the end of the tour, their families.

The Brass and their shell of infallibility is a cover for egotistical thinking they think they earn through their “elite” careers. The higher you go, the closer you get to the “War Machine.” Like a kid with a toy soldier and toy tanks, they think they are there to earn the glory war brings to them. The best soldier in the twentieth century was Eisenhower. A man who cared about “his” people and commanded his generals with that in mind (read about Patton). Eisenhower is the one that warned us, “We must guard against the Military Industrial Complex.” The late twentieth and twenty-first century Brass has forgotten that lesson and, there has not been a government leader that said “NO” to the pentagon and their love for gadgets.

In the long run, none of their toys helped them in guerrilla warfare!

Back to Combat Outpost Keating

The “Chain” of Command is only as good as each link above “this” one is. It is understood that it is driven with a sense of urgency and bias for action, however, it has to also have, the resources required to win the battle with minimum sacrifice. We were successful in D-Day because Eisenhower made sure we had a complete package of war-pressure system in place, and how to maintain it in the long run. Thus American troops have ALWAYS fought with a support system.

A support system in this instance is critical. The Taliban were fighting a guerrilla warfare strategy, “here now, gone tomorrow; live to fight another day.” the US was using a “fight and hold strategic terrain” strategy. In a mountainous terrain? With spotty air support? With NO local Army in front of them fighting for their own ideals?

Originally when the Obama “strategy” was put in place (March 2009), COPs were already in place, close to the border to check on Taliban traffic, since 2006.

Somebody, high in the chain of command made the final decision where, the Keating COP was to be located in 2006. This battle was fought in October 2009 so, it took seven months from the President announcement, for the Taliban to send us the message back of what they thought about the new “strategy.” They were not backing off. After this bloody battle we shutdown all COPs. It dawn on the brass, they could not assist them in a timely manner. 12 hours is an eternity in battle and it is a miracle so many survived. It has to do with the fact that at the end of life, they fight for each other, they exist in a vacuum. They fought without any support system assisting them.

Whomever picked the location of Camp Keating knew nothing about war geography. The location was never reassessed even though, ANY Brass that went there, any amount of time, reported back how vulnerable the place was. The location is a salient between hills, at the bottom of a deep valley, an easy lob for shells, mortars, and attackers going downhill. Which is what happened. What kind of “long-term” thinking went into this?

That (picture above) is where 53 American Soldiers fought shoulder-to-shoulder to fend-off between 300 and 400 Taliban with no help for 12 hours. Eight of our soldiers were killed in Action(KIA), 27 were wounded. The fight was so brutal, they fought hard to keep the Taliban from overrunning them or die; and, was fought with such remarkable courage and heroism it was rewarded with one of the highest contents of medals for any unit. Medals of Honor for Staff Sergeant Clinton Romesha and Specialist Ty Carter, Thirty-seven Army Commendation Medals with “V” for valor devices, 27 Purple Hearts, 21 Bronze Stars, 5 Silver Stars and 2 Distinguished Service Crosses.

Rita Wilson wrote a magnificent song to describe the emotion one can think and feel in moments that humanity in this predicament can feel and called it “Everybody Cries.” The first verse is deep in the emotion of facing oneself and, common to all at that moment, the introspection with the truth in front of them:

“Everybody cries Everybody dies It’s the truth that makes us one It’s the center of our sun As we take the lonely path On the road to the edge of man Beneath the darkening sky We curse and wonder why”

The New Army

The new Army will be the result of an excavation experiment. The words of the Secretary of Defense says it all,

“I am going through the rosters of American enlisted men to make sure we don’t have white supremacy.”

“we want the military to look like America.”

On the last statement it can be assume two things, 1. he is going to get inside the mind of every “white” INDIVIDUAL; 2. he is looking for 12% Black, 13% Hispanic, 5% Asian and 70% White. The 70% have “white-washed” not to think too much of themselves. Good luck fighting with those “reduce level of whiteness individuals.”

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs stated,

“one of the chief obligations is to root out white anger or white supremacy.”

Those statements come from the TOP BRASS. The word out, the DOD has hired Ibram X. Kendi, to organize the training of all the troops in Critical Race Theory. I could not verify independently that is true. We will have troops that know the difference between “Equality and Equity”, I wonder what that has to do with killing performance in the battle field?

The observation here and the weight we put on racial classification starts in society and it is taking us to tribalism to every corner of our nation. We will become the next Yugoslavia where racial classifications , differences, and hatred turned it into an atrocious civil war that broke the country into six countries[1]. Worse, we can become like Afghanistan. Fourteen (14) tribes that thanks to us, is now ruled by one, the Taliban. This social movement is now drilling into the Military from the top echelons. Not uniting the fighting force but “classifying them and indoctrinating them.”

The Pledge of Allegiance: “I pledge allegiance to my Flag and to the Republic for which it stands one Nation indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.”

The definition of “One Nation” can be symbolized by a fist. All individuals with a single vision of who they are and what they are here for, working together to that end. On the “other hand,” the one thing tribes have in common is one geographical area that they share. After that, it is everybody for themselves.

We are walking into unknown territory by making race more important than unity, which is what an entity like the Army is all about. A cohesive unit is like a fist. Once the troops are given new norms of behavior, they will follow as ordered. The Top echelons of the DOD have already demonstrated over the years how politically motivated they are and incompetent at what they do. All of them are looking up above, not down where their attention ought to be.

The American death by race in Iraq and Afghanistan showed 70% were White soldiers. What will happen if this happens in the next war? According to their equality/equity equations, the bigwigs will panic!!!! “Wait a minute! There is 70% Whites in the USA, half of them are women! We have exceeded our quota of dead whites! We have to pull all the whites out of the battle zones! What do we do? It’s a professional army. You can’t draft enough, fast enough to make up the difference. Besides if they are drafted, the draftees might all say they are bigots, just to get out of the obligation. What kind of criteria is that for people that are behind a rock trying to save each other?

This is not the only time the “brass” has put our war fighters in harms way. It has been done since we had a professional Army. Why? They don’t have to explain ANYTHING TO US ANYMORE. Apparently this was the only lesson they learned from Vietnam. The press does not help, they lie. So, how will we know? or do we even care? Are we one Nation any more?

As Victor Hansen put it,

“Other things will happen when we emphasize DNA other than the content of your character.”

Hint of decisions at the top — As of February 2022, the evacuation crisis continues in Afghanistan; we still have Americans trapped there. So far they have evacuated 9,000 Americans. I am sure the Taliban will let the rest of them go for a price (we don’t know how many). This is where the incompetence begins.

Something is rotten when a system of government supports a subsystem of war that NEVER learns from the top-down. They only know how to bark orders to people that are expendable. Starting with the President on down, everybody thinks it is a tool of threat. On the other hand, this is reflected to us through the “peace army” of people the government employs through the “4th branch” it hires, to “control US.” We are ALL SERFS to the government.

[1] -If you think about it, Yugoslavia was the size of Oregon (96,000 sq. mi.) broken into six countries, each has an average of 16,000 square miles, the equivalent of area of 126 mile by 126 miles square. That is how bad turning into tribes is.
