The Mysterious Kitty Who Ran Away
March Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Pet People”
She wandered into a stranger’s home.
A few months after we moved into our house, I discovered a cat sitting outside my doorstep when I came home. I quietly bent down to pet her —and she let me caress her fur for about a minute. She purred and rubbed her body around my legs. When I opened the door, she followed me into the house. She sniffed around — ran up and down the stairs and then hopped up onto the table to stare at the fish tank.
I watched her. She was comfortably settled in, confident — like she owned the place. She had a collar but I didn’t know her name — so I called her Kitty.
When Kitty got bored — she left. I don’t know if she was a runaway or if she was a wildly curious tamed cat who found adventure by exploring a stranger’s home.
I wonder if she’s been here before — and where will she go next?
“Pet People” are people who love and care for animals and either have pets, work with, or protect animals or creatures, or simply come across animals in their daily lives — and have developed a social or emotional connection with them.
Can you publish a photo that represents “Pet People” and tell a story about it in six words?
