The Most Tolerant ‘Mother in Law’ for Your Household
Other names — Snake plant/Dracaena Trifasciata

You will be lucky to see flowers on this madam — aka Mother In Law’s Tongue. This quiet, fuss-free lady endures your forgetful watering. Instead, it’s adept at adapting both sunny and low lights spaces, to the delight of new brides/to-be gardeners.
When ignored over moons, she blossoms discreetly. A tall, slender stalk of white sprig-like flowers dripping of sweet nectar — implying she is still alive!
But her blooms are only once a year — for survival. Her motherly scent is rich, intense at night, enticing pollinators to help spread her seeds.
These perennial plants propagate using rhizome. Often brought indoors as air filters to remove toxic pollutants like formaldehyde. Elsewhere, her fibers are used as bowstrings; inheriting the name Viper’s bowstring hemp.
