The Most Sophisticated Work Lessons in Simplest Words: By Disney Movies

Often complex things have effortless solutions

Walt Disney Studios has produced some treasured stories about valuable life lessons, tales of self-discovery, along with the possibility and the promise of a happy ending.

These are some of the Disney classics and their comprehended wisdom that all adults and professionals could draw.

Ratatouille

Don’t take credit for what you didn’t do and find ways to make it happen

Ratatouille touches on a highly prevalent practice in the corporate world, i.e., credit stealing. These thieves are low on ethics, and they might build a fortune by stepping and crushing true calibre, but they never earn an ounce of respect.

Alfredo was the real rat for stealing and thinking no one would know his conniving plans.

You must not accept the Applause you didn’t deserve and learn to hear the real voice of your soul above the noise of claps. Your ethics should weigh higher than your desire for the next promotion.

Hercules

Train and train hard like a hulk and sacrifice when you should

We all recall the mighty Hercules as the bold and big son of god, but we often forget his crusades. Yes, he was a divine deity who could beat up Thanos in a snap. Yet his father knew that it takes more than physical strength to be called worthy — After all, with great power comes great responsibility. And it was only After he decided to give up his own life for meg coupled with his commitment and willingness to sacrifice that made him the HERCULES we know.

It’s not all about year-end turnovers and the mad cash we pumped; it’s about the life’s we touch and the everlasting impact we made.

Mulan

Take that chance and be true at your heart!

Mulan and I form this natural alliance, and the reason behind this deep connection might be the same gender and cultural similarities. I can clearly recall my first encounter with the tale and being wholly mesmerized and touched by this young and familiar-looking girl’s struggles and strengths.

When we start any new venture, there is a feeling of isolation and hollowness and a desire to prove our potential, and when the world cannot see what we have to offer, it is a different low altogether.

We all have a hidden warrior in us, and some of the weakest sprites end up doing the gutsiest tasks. Although Mulan was made to feel ashamed of her true identity and the fundamental element of her existence, i.e., her gender, we should be glad that we don’t have to crossdress to practice our desired profession.

Staying true to your cause and clan is a question of ethics and testament of character. And we must all pledge to bring nothing but honour to our intuition and ourselves.

Uncover your chi and bet on it with complete conviction

The lion king

The value of a mentor and leadership

The death of Mufasa still brings tears to my eyes no matter how many times I watch the movie. Yet, wrapped under a cosy blanket of the loving father-son duo, in a fascinating world of talking animals lays the most incredible life lessons.

The fear of the unknown and a creeping sense of insecurity is a very familiar feeling. For once, We all must have had a desire to escape all and run from challenging situations. The fear of failure is not uncommon, But a true leader faces the test of time heads on. Like how Simba came back to rescue his people, a good leader never leaves his pack high and dry, and he is physically present during the most challenging times.

It’s okay not to know everything and putting your armours and guard down once in a while.

Alice in Wonderland

The creativity and curiosity

The movie is a perfect amalgam of weird ideas and unusual situations. Just how when Alice falls into the hole of the unknown. We as professionals experience similar problems — if and only when we take the plunge; no amount of planning and preparation can build us for the challenges one faces in the real and ruthless world of money-making.

Alice is a true embodiment of an amateur entrepreneur trying to make a mark in any field; they are alone and have to find comfort and confidence in their company and scavenge their way to their white rabbit.

A bugs life

Speak up and shine

Being an introvert can often be misread as vague, and you’ll easily be ignored and overshadowed by the loud personalities around you. — The same case with Flik as his ant community down looked at him for his Mischievous and disruptive nature that overcast his creative and genius side.

You need to be the Flik of your life, speak up when required, and take charge of your destiny because you are an asset and your golden ideas need to be heard.

Finding Nemo

When life gets you down, just keep swimming

Finding Nemo is a tale of community spirit and undying motivation to meet your goal. Nemo and Marlin are trying to escape their habitats — aiming a unification against all odds, where their friends from both sea and land are aiding them to do so.

If those fishes with tiny heads and no resources can display such an example of bravery by overcoming their situations, so can we.

Break the glass ceiling or the fish tank, whatever works for you

Peter Pan

Never stop dreaming. Period.

If you can think about it, you can do it.— This phase is the motto of most successful people. The birthplace of all things beautiful and magical is a vivid imagination. From inventors to entrepreneurs to homemakers, it’s their dream, drive, and belief that keeps them moving.

With a dream and self-confidence, you can win the world.

Robin Hood * T&C applied

Social responsibility and good deeds

Although Robin Hood is a very controversial figure, many argue that he is nothing but a glorified thief. And it’s correct a good motive doesn’t justify the crime itself. But we can all agree that charity is a must. So although big enterprises and governments must take up to social responsibility tasks, we as responsible and aware citizens also need to contribute to society and causes.

Don’t go and loot banks, but Charity begins at home, so help anyone you can in your capacity.

Takeaway

  • Always read the final print as the devil is in the details; one of the biggest blunders you can make as an adult is throwing your signatures everywhere. So learn from Ariel’s mistake.
  • Your Prince Charming, i.e., your big promotion or investors, will come sooner or later; just keep grinding.
  • Treat everyone with dignity and respect, from the seven dwarfs to one big beast.
  • Teamwork is dream work. Frozen teaches the importance of togetherness and how the biggest, baddest, and most potent also need a dedicated team to keep the machine running.
  • Tangled teaches us to embrace our uniqueness and make it our biggest asset. Don’t fear your gifts; you must harness them to their full potential.
  • It’s never too late; it doesn’t matter if you are 50, 30, or 80. If you have a desire, now Is the right time to unleash it. Up is a testament to the fact that you are just one moment away from living your dream, and there will never be a better time than today.
  • You never know who your true allies and enemies are, may it be the devil witches or evil goons. They always present themselves in a most delicate packing of niceness, and it’s our duty to put our wisdom glasses on and weed out such people instead of falling prey to them.

*Hakuna Matata or let it go!

Pick one the choice is yours

My father often used to quote these famous lines by an indigenous poet —

Who says there cannot be a hole in the sky, just throw a stone with faith and persuasion

These movies truly fill us with a zeal that all is possible if you believe in your causes hard enough.

I hope you find your Chi, Thank you.
