PARENTING
Parental Actions Affect the Growth of Children
Parents are unconsciously affecting the development of children.
We all love our parents. We learn and grow under their observation, but sometimes facilitating did nothing as compared to the parental actions. Parental actions play a vital role in shaping out the characters of children.
Parents are the ultimate role models for children. Every word, movement, and action has an effect. No other person or outside force has a greater influence on a child than the parent — Bob Keeshan.
Everyone loves and respects their parents, but a child is more likely to attach with one — either mother or father. In my case, I am more attached to my father.
Today, what I am is because of the learning from parents. I learn a lot from parental actions, but the most important is the manner of treating others. I had learned that if you treat someone well, then you are getting inner satisfaction.
While remaining good, should be selfless. If you expect good in return from the same person, then you are expecting something wrong. It might be the lack, but believe that the goodwill return to you in an unexpected way.
One day, a needy man came to our home and asked for help. He started coming. One day, my brother started arguing with the man that why did you come daily? I am not going to give anything to you. At that time, our father did not shout, instead explain the matter. In his perspective, what we have today might be because of helping the other so, do not let go of anyone with empty hands.
The behavior of my father towards the needy and poor inspires me to do good with everyone. He always taught us to help others, and this help should be selfless. He tried to help every person without taking care of the condition. This act of kindness hits so hard that I started following his actions.
Today, Whenever I meet someone — they admire me for good manners. I am thankful for getting the majestic traits from my father. I am blessed to be a child of a man of action. Furthermore, I learn more from the actions of my father than from the teachings.
When I have started doing the same practices as that of my father, I feel a different kind of satisfaction. The happiness, delight, and calmness that I get from helping others bring different tastes in life. It was the new horizon of learning. I had learned that being good with someone plays a crucial role in the development of character.
In contemporary society, we see that children are becoming digitally obsessed. They love to play online games and spending time in front of screens. It is because they are looking at the elders and parents using digital screens. This is how the coming generation is learning from our actions. So the actions are more effective than teachings.
When I start following, my father was an inspiration. Now, I realize the development in character by following parental actions.
I agree with Jane D. Hall that “At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents”.
The major concern of the story is that — parental actions play a vital role in shaping children. It helps in inner nourishment as compared to teachings. So, parents should take care of action, especially in front of children. You are the first role model for children.
