The Miracle Of Everything

Miracles happen every single day. Some we see and some we don’t. But I believe that miracles are everywhere. Sometimes are complacencies numb our appreciation for miracles that are consistently around us. Because of this preconceived notion of what miracles are, we look upon them as rarities.
However, it is from my perspective, that I would like to bring in a more enlightened, spiritual understanding of why miracles are constantly all around us. Bringing in and using Christian Theology as a foundation of credibility. Referencing both ancient texts of the King James Bible and the Book of Mormon: Another Testament Of Jesus Christ.
What is The Common Understanding Of A Miracle?
Provided by Oxford Languages, the definition of a miracle is as follows.
Miracle
Noun
- a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency.
- a highly improbable or extraordinary event, development, or accomplishment that brings very welcome consequences.
- an amazing product or achievement, or an outstanding example of something.
From my experience, words that can often come associated with the word miracle are words like; convenience, heaven-sent, grand, and timely.
From my view of the world, people look at miracles as being big, life-altering experiences, that are difficult to put into words. This is true. Miracles can and often are, grand in scope.
However, I would just like to expand your thoughts on what a miracle could be. I believe that miracles can be both simple and small in scale. At the same time as being important parts of our lives. Complimenting the big miracles that also can happen in our lives. I also believe Miracles can be found within hardship and tragedy besides, just from the stereotypical use of the word, as a representation of simply avoiding tragedy or hardship.
Here is Why Miracles Are More Predominant In Someone’s Life Than One Might Think.
There are 2 reasons why I think miracles are more common than the average person might think.
- Our awareness of any miracles comes from the foundation of a positive mind, which is something we are all capable of having.
- The divine nature behind the concept of miracles suggests that there are a lot more miracles in our lives than we may deserve.
Let me explain.
The Awareness Of Miracles
Miracles can only be manifested to us through a thankful and positive mindset. That is how we increase our awareness to see the many miracles around us.
Let me give a simple example. Take a look at the picture below which shows a glass cup that contains water.

As you can see, the height of the water stops at about the halfway point of the cup. Now, after seeing the contents of the cup, from your perspective is the cup half empty, or is the cup half full?
If you say the glass is half empty, you are looking at the glass of water from a negative point of view. Focusing on what you do not have. Hence, expressing that the glass is half empty.
If you say the glass is half full, then you are looking at the glass from a positive point of view. Looking at what you have, instead of what you do not.
The same goes for looking for and appreciating miracles.
To be able to recognize a miracle, one must be able to appreciate the blessings one has. It is all about your point of view. Miracles are directly associated with a heart of gratitude. The more someone is grateful, the more someone can see miracles upon miracles.
This means -from my perspective- any good thing can be a miracle. No matter how big or small.
Clarifying What Can Be A Miracle
According to the definition, a miracle by nature is supposed to be extraordinary, unexplainable, and divine.
So someone could ask, does that mean anything can be a miracle? After all, I am sure many people have wonderful blessings that are simple, explainable, and seem regular.
I think it is a very valid question. However, I still believe anything good we may have or can think of, can be designated as a miracle.
To me(as previously illustrated), it is all about perspective.
For example, let’s take smartphones to illustrate the point.
smartPhones are a common device that a big chunk of the world uses every day as a need. At least, from the way we view it. They help us communicate with the world. That is their prime objective.
So I ask you, would you consider a smartphone a miracle?
I asked myself this question and this is what I came up with.
Before my understanding of miracles, my answer would stereotypically and initially be no. Why? Because as of right now, smartphones seem ordinary, explainable, and ungodly. Which are all opposites from what a miracle is supposed to be.
But upon pondering the thought of a smartphone being a miracle, I changed my answer. I do think they are miracles. Here is my thought process.
The only reason I or any other person might say a smartphone may not be extraordinary is that as smartphone users, we are so used to them. My complacency to these devices hides the helpful and grand magnificence that smartphones provide.
If I were able to travel back into time to the early Dark Ages taking a smartphone with me to show the people of that time what it could do, would blow the minds of those living in that time. To them, it would be magic.
At that time, it would check off all the boxes of what is considered a miracle. I am confident that to the people it would seem extraordinary, unexplainable, and Divine.
So with that being said, a question needs to be asked. Does something lose its title as a miracle as time goes on when the miracle becomes common and explainable?
That is for each of you individually to decide.
However, it is my personal opinion that it stays a miracle. Whatever it may be.
The Divine Nature Of Miracles: A Spiritual Understanding
Miracles are something that has always been welcomed to the Human Family. Everybody appreciates the comfort and help that a miracle provides.
As explained, part of the DNA of a miracle is supposed to be of divine origin. Something that is fundamentally defined as extraordinary, unexplainable, and divine(such as a miracle), could be easily used to describe God.
When we as people witness miracles, we know that they happened. But still, for some reason, they can seem impossible to contemplate as to how they were able to happen.
As Christians who follow God, many people know in their hearts and minds that God is real. But they too, run into a tongue with few words or a mind with little clarity as to give a perfect understanding of how it is that God is real. To them it just is.
With that being said, I(who is of the Christian religion) believe in an all-knowing, loving God. A God who is behind every miracle and is also the reason every miracle exists.
Which is one more reason why I think there are more miracles in our lives than meets the eye.
From the beginning, the word miracle is something that has always been used to describe a good thing.
In the Book of Mormon; Moroni 7:12, it reads…
12) Wherefore, all things which are good cometh of God……
Now, since miracles are inherently good things, I would make the obvious conclusion that all miracles come from God. But as we also previously discussed anything good in our lives, whether extraordinary or regular(depending on your perspective) can be a miracle.
As a result, it makes the opportunity for noticing a wide range of miracles a lot more likely. Increasing the blessings in our lives because we can see more of them.
Now let me take this one step further.
In the King James Bible located in Ephesians 3:9, it proclaims the words
9)…….God, who created all things by Jesus Christ…
The reason I bring this to your attention is that everything that we physically have in this life has originated from the very earth we stand on. The same earth is a product of the hands and architecture of God.
We may not use everything in the best way it was intended. We may not even understand everything enough to use it for its perfect intent.
However, if we look hard enough using a positive and righteous mindset, we can find God’s intended purpose for everything. Making it so that we have an endless plethora of daily miracles that we can appreciate because of God.
Again, someone who is extraordinary, unexplainable, and divine. God is a miracle himself for all the world and since he is the reason for everything, I would like to proclaim that makes everything a miracle.
But remember, miracles can only be found by a positive mindset. So practice looking and never give up!
