The Mindset of an Exceptional Thinker.

How to benefit from the fact that your thoughts create your life.

Have you ever questioned that everything you see around you was nothing but a human thought at first?

The device you’re using right now to read this story was once not existing. At first, there were only human thoughts to build such a tool.

Your cupboard, your clothing, your shoes, were once just imagination.

Inventions were once just creative thoughts about solving specific problems.

Creation always starts with a thought. You have your proof: You wrote a thesis, seminar paper, a song, you painted art, you spent hours in the shop or at your desk to craft, to name a few examples.

You create, even creation processes are quite tough and often take time. For sure you know the famous quote of Thomas A. Edison that gets to the heart of it:

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10000 ways that won’t work.”

Because actions always follow thought, we can form our lives with our thoughts.

If we align our thoughts towards what we want to see in our personal reality, we will soon experience these thoughts to be true. We subconsciously try to find evidence what we think is true.

The fruition might take time, but it is an unalterable law that the nature of your thinking will materialize in similar means.

Here is why.

You reap what you sow

“The mind is everything. What you think you become.“

— Buddha

If we observe nature, everything makes sense. In fact, we work with what nature provides us:

If we want to cultivate corn, we sow corn.

We know that from a corn seed, only corn can grow.

There will never grow wheat from corn seed.

The plant seed is a metaphor for thought.

Hatred can never stop hate.

From a hatred thought there could never grow love.

From a loving thought, there could never grow hatred.

From a shiftless thought, there could never grow passion.

From a passionate thought, there could never grow weakness.

If you want to get fit and healthy, you either think creatively about how to achieve it, or you feel sorry for yourself.

The nature of your thought about getting fit and healthy creates well-being, whereas from feeling sorry for yourself, no muscle will ever grow.

You always have the choice to think either creatively about a solution for a problem in your life, or you surrender.

If you want to create the life you truly wish to have, you must choose wisely what you allow yourself to think.

The thought itself confines the nature of the following action and hence result.

If you want to change certain areas of your life,

  • select and sow only seeds whose type is related to what you want — think creatively about the things you want in your life,
  • stop watering and dry out what’s not having space anymore — decrease the attention for the things you don’t want anymore,
  • water the new seeds and take care of them — take action that is in alignment with what you truly want,
  • reap the ripe fruits — get the results of your consistent work dedicated to your goals.

Use tools that allow you to play creatively with your thoughts

“If you think you’re too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.” — Dalai Lama

Affirmations, goal lists, vision boards, visualizations are great tools allowing you to try out new thoughts.

They all give you endless space, and they are limitless in usage and exploration. They provide you with the possibility to be endlessly creative with your own life and the world around you.

When was the last time you imagined being a musician or artist performing in front of ten thousand people, a writer resonating with millions of people, an entrepreneur solving a problem for billions of people?

When was the last time you created mental space for your goals, seeing them already being part of your life?

When was the last time you closed your eyes and just imagined flying around through the clouds freely, or similar unrealistic scenes that make you feel excited?

Why should you limit your thinking at all? Why should you think small, when you can use the mind to think huge, bold, dreamful, uplifting?

From a huge, bold, dreamful, big, and playful thought, there can only grow greatness, courage, creativity, endurance, extent.

So, finally, give yourself more time and space for creativity, passion, boundlessness, and freedom in thought. It will never provide you with anything else than more creativity, purpose, enthusiasm, freedom.

And as your subconscious mind stores persistently what you repeatedly do, you will soon give these thoughts more space.

Now you might think you can keep your thoughts a secret, but this isn’t so because action always follows thought. If your thinking is straightened, vibrant, and energetic, you will inevitably start to act in a related way.

Question the nature of your thinking- and behavior patterns

Feeling insecure and lost is not a nature of thought. It’s an emotional response to the dissimilarity of your thoughts and actions, which occurs when dealing with change in life. If your thoughts and actions aren’t in alignment, it means you’re outside of your comfort zone. You’re trying to adapt. So you aren’t lost. You are evolving. Just your surroundings seem unfamiliar.

In these moments, what helps a lot is to question the nature of your thoughts:

Are they

  • bold and strong,
  • dream-oriented and vibrant,
  • uplifting and caring,
  • yet in alignment with your actions?

If you are fully aware of the power of your thoughts, if you are fully aware of the fact that you can always choose what you think, if you regularly take care of pruning your mind from the unwanted thought patterns slipping in, you will become an exceptional thinker.

And the same way you are an exceptional thinker, you will inevitably start to act in a related way and become an extraordinary performer.
