The Importance of Controlling Your Thoughts
I have recently read a beautiful book by Florence Scovel Schinn, “The Game of Life and How to Play It”. She captures the idea of the mind and how it controls our reality. She opens the book by saying” Life is a game. It is a game, however, which cannot be played successfully without the knowledge of spiritual law, and the Old and New Testament give the rules of the game with wonderful clearness. Jesus Christ taught that it was a great game of Giving and Receiving.”
“Whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7
She explains that whatever we send out in thought, word or deed is sown and the fruit returns to us. This is done through the imaginings in our mind. We imagine what we are going to do before we do it. Imagination really directs our lives. Think about it!
“Keep your heart (Imagination) with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of lie.” Proverbs 4:23
Multimillionaires have trained their imagining faculty to see success, abundance, and prosperity. They live in a state of expectancy where opportunity and growth prevail. They are often guided by their intuition (Holy Spirit). If we pay attention to our intuition, we will see the Divine Design for our lives and that is where our fortunes lie.
Yashua (Jesus) told us to:
“Seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
Shinn explains that the Kingdom is an area of “right ideas”. It holds the Divine pattern for our lives. How do we know or discover the Divine pattern or design for our lives? What should I do to become a millionaire within my Divine Design? Primarily you want to choose something that interests you deeply. You’ll need a strong interest and commitment to your Mission/Purpose to help you persevere when things get rough and uncertain. Therefore, it’s worth taking a serious amount of time thinking about it. What did God put you here to do? You can be sure it won’t be just something to make money. It will be something that you enjoy doing and have the right disposition and talent for. It is specifically meant for you.
Here are a few things you can do to get to your Purpose/Mission in the Kingdom:
- Study your Bible consistently. The Wisdom of the Ages will make you successful. You will get amazing business ethic and protocol here.
- Pray and ask Holy Spirit for ideas and direction. Follow God’s will as He points it out to you. His will fits your desires and abilities. Pay attention to your intuition, the Holy Spirit.
- Let His revealed Purpose for you direct all that you do in life and business, then you have found your Purpose/Mission!

Let’s go a little deeper in helping you identify Purpose. There is a time-tested way to explore the paths to wealth. Consider all of the problems in the world. Think of something that is inconvenient for you or that takes up too much of your time. Are there products or processes that irritate you? Are there products or services missing in your neighborhood? Are there products or services that people in general are not getting that should be available to all? Solve a problem that’s important to you by envisioning a solution and working toward a successful outcome.

We can also say it this way, to make multimillions of dollars help a multimillion people…or to make a billion dollars help a billion people” I’m sure you get the point.
A prime directive has been adequately stated by Dr. Myles Monroe, “If you want to be successful, solve a problem.”
This is an expanding and timeless phenomenon among entrepreneurs of today. They are working to contribute something meaningful to the world and building wealth for themselves as well. Solve a problem.

Envisioning You Future
“The first step toward creating an improved future is developing the ability to envision it. Vision has no boundaries and has no limits. Our Vision is what we become in life.” Tony Dungy
Your Vision (what you imagine) is your perception of your life now and in the future. You must actually see yourself as a multimillionaire. I’ll admit, this is going to take some practice for most of us. Praying is the best way to strengthen this Vision. Once we find our Purpose, we will have plenty of ideas to visualize and pray for. We can visualize our businesses, our family, the people we will serve, our surroundings, our investments and other wealth related things.
Your Vision (what you imagine) will help to clarify your Purpose and explain what you want to contribute to the world. It will be a great reference point for the decisions you make concerning your everyday activities.
How is your imagination? Have you imagined an ideal situation lately? Can you visualize a solution to a critical problem we are facing now? If you haven’t, just try imagining something wonderful in your environment. It’s fun. Think ideally like children do and that Vision will become a reality! You’ll be surprised.

Living the Multimillionaire Life
Live like you would live if you had multimillions of dollars. Sure, you would be living in a different place, owning different things, traveling more and being more charitable, but consider your life on a day to day basis. Wouldn’t you still be doing some of the things that you do now? Aren’t you enjoying some things now that you will continue to enjoy if you are extremely wealthy? Hopefully, one of the things you would enjoy would be your business or whatever you are offering to help people. More than likely, this is what is making you wealthy and will continue to increase your wealth. So as you engage in this occupation, even in the beginnings, you can enjoy the feeling of wealth through the growth and development of your business or enterprise with the right knowledge and skills. Practice wealthy habits now. Such as checking your finances daily and researching about and checking investments.
“…whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Phillipians 4:8
Control your thoughts and only think of things that build and promote your Purpose. Consider all of your successes, even the smallest ones and ponder on the value of these successes toward your Purpose. Never speak or highlight the situations or things that you do not have. Just don’t mention them. Some of us like to make people feel sorry for us. Avoid this because you always have something of good report and virtue that you can occupy your mind with.

Cultivate the mind of a multimillionaire and remember to control your thoughts, envision your future and live the multimillionaire life now.
