The Million-Dollar Skill You Never Knew You Had.
It’s been inside you all along, just think.
That’s right, just think.
It’s been inside you all along. Literally.
Whether we accept it or not, our minds are our greatest asset. They are a wealth of information with endless capacity until, well, you know.
As long as we’re alive, the mind can be used to our advantage. After all, it’s gotten us this far, so why stop here?
The million-dollar skill: To think
As I’m sure you’ve seen on this platform, there’s been a massive inundation with writers.
Countless candidates trying their hand as a wordsmith searching for their big break.
I’m still searching for mine.
The problem: Not everyone is a writer.
Wrong.
Everyone is a writer (because everyone is a thinker)
Remember when I said that the mind is our greatest asset? It’s true.
All you need for a successful writing career is a brain and some determination.
Okay, there are other things but that’s beside the point.
The million-dollar skill is you. If you can think, you can write. All you have to do is put the pen to the paper or the fingers on the keys.
I prefer the latter. I’ve heard from other writers that physically scripting out your thoughts on a piece of paper can be extremely beneficial, but I haven’t jumped on board yet.
When I’m typing my thoughts, it allows me to keep the emotion attached to my words. When I’m physically writing, it slows me down and makes me sound like a robot.
Nobody wants to read robot writing. I try to give you readers at least a fraction of my personality through my work I put out.
How I do at that, is up to the verdict of the people; fine folks like you.
As you repeat this wonderful process of streamlining your thoughts, creativity enters the mix and your writing becomes art.
Psst: This is where you start to make your million dollars.
Monetize your thoughts
We live in a day and age that’s heavily centered around “monetization.”
If that’s not the ultimate buzzword of the twenty-first century, then I don’t know what is.
You can monetize anything nowadays. Have you heard of an NFT? They’re like money-making cartoons! I saw some dude sell a red square for like $20,000.
Insane, yes, but a decent display of creativity I suppose.
I do love the idea of non-fungible tokens (NFT’s) and I even think they could present a major opportunity for “solopreneur” writers in the future.
It may sound funky to “monetize your thoughts,” but there’s no difference between that and saying “monetize your writing.”
Your thoughts are your words.
My music teacher from elementary school used to say something like,
“When a singer sings, her instrument is not the microphone, but her voice.”
Read that again.
The same applies to writing. Your thoughts are your words.
Writing is not your instrument, it’s your brain.
Once you’ve figured this out, there are plenty of avenues for monetization. You have to use a little something called creativity. To ignite a spark; there are books, writing platforms, courses, affiliate marketing, and more.
It all comes from your good ol’ thoughts.
Yes, thinking is a skill
I know some of you will think otherwise, so hear me out.
Thinking is a skill.
Take it from me, I didn’t do it for the first twenty years of my life.
All jokes aside, it is possible to practice thinking and even get better at it.
I would honestly go as far as to say that thinking is the most important skill there is. Without it, we wouldn’t be human. I’d say that makes it great.
Though, you need to watch out. You must be careful not to fall into the trap.
It’s a trap!!
This skill of thought is meant to be balanced.
Start to abuse your cognition, and you’ll suffer from overthinking. Forget about it altogether, and you’ll lose your way.
Develop the skill of thought so you can stay on track and benefit from it in several ways. It’s all about creativity monetization.
Final Thoughts
With almost 8 billion people on the planet now, there is still not one person completely alike. Everyone can benefit from what you have to say.
If you’re afraid to put your thoughts into writing, don’t be. Haters gonna hate.
If you focus on it, they will defeat you. Never let them.
Plus, you might get something more out of putting your thoughts into words. I’m talking more than just money.
Peace, happiness, relief, acceptance, pleasure, growth, the list goes on. See for yourself and cultivate your million dollar skill whichever way you like.
Have some creativity and go create!
Takeaway
There is thought in all of us, remember that.
The invisible messages flying around your head could be worth something.
Find out if they are and don’t look back.
