Today we’ll tackle the most challenging questions therapists and coaches in private practice face:

The “What do you do?” Question

Here’s an example of how I once struggled with a good answer:

Q: “What do you do?”

A: “I’m a marriage and family therapist.”

I thought that was a great answer.

After all, I worked had for that degree. I worked hard for that license. I work hard in my practice.

Just like you!

What I got instead was one of these 3 responses:

Response 1: “Oh that’s nice” followed by walking away as if I’m dangerous somehow.

Response 2: “Oh so are you analyzing me?” Not until right now pal!

Response 3: “Great! Let me tell you about my __________.”

3 hours later…hahaha

Once I created my million dollar answer everything changed.
