The Middleman
What do you see from the middle?

Investment Manager Peter Samuel solicits, “I am telling you our firm can guide you to the top. We can help you put your business on the stock market to increase its value. Your stocks will generate millions in new revenues.”
“But I am already making millions,” Steven Philibert said.
“Look,” Peter suggests, “right now, your company is sitting in the middle, and with our help, you can go to the top.”
“You have forgotten that I am known as the ‘Middleman.’ Why do you think I am called that?”
“You love being in the middle?”
Steven smiles and teases, “being in the middle is warm. I get heat, information, and friendship from all who are climbing up on my left. On my right, I also get the same from the ones fighting to stay up and those who fall. But I get something more powerful. I learn life lessons from everyone, both the ones who fall and the ones who are fighting to stay at the top. Plus, I can see everything coming my way from all directions.”
“You are hopeless,” Steven said, walking away.
All of us have a comfort level, and being comfortable is power. It’s like water to plants. All of us have a place, position, food, clothes, etc., something that we are comfortable with. Being satisfied with one’s life and work increases contentment. Happiness opens the door to the impossible. Many of us do better when we are relaxed and focused. All of that comes from being comfortable.
Where are you most comfortable?
