The Medicine For Ageing
A poem

The medicine for ageing is laughter Good, loud, fiery, belly hurting fists of laughter It keeps you happy and joyful They say laughter adds four minutes to your life That’s the medicine for ageing
The medicine for ageing is nature Green grass and grasshoppers hopping in them, fireflies flashing in the dark, caterpillars munching on green leaves, squirrels in the bushes, fishes splashing in the water, bees buzzing around Sunrise, sunsets, sun rays, waterfalls, rainbows and butterflies Wild fruits and berries, blossoming flowers some withering on the earth, mountains and forests, rain and breeze, snow and hail, waves and storms That’s the medicine for ageing
The medicine for ageing is love Sweet, warm, unfailing, honest, pure love. The one you give and the one you receive Love for life, love for yourself, your children, your craft, good food, good music, beautiful art, wonderful places It gives you a reason to keep living That’s the medicine for ageing
The medicine for ageing is giving You pass on good deeds to others You bless their lives and they too bless the lives of others You pass on good energy that gets passed on from one life form to another That’s the medicine for ageing
The medicine for ageing is learning Learning new trends, news songs, new books, new stories, new styles, new inventions It feeds the mind and rejuvinates it It keeps the mind eager, fresh, youthful and sharp That’s the medicine for ageing
The medicine for ageing is creating It keeps you going when you are here and keeps you alive when you are gone You wrap your soul in your creations and a part of you remains in them And through your creations, you’ll interact with others for eternity even in your absence That’s the medicine for ageing
