The Media Monster
Why the constant media noise is eating my brain.
In recent days the call for the impeachment of the president has risen in the House of Representatives. I believe the Democrats understand upholding the constitution is more important than winning an election. Integrity should overshadow a political win. I agree with all of this. However, I am sick of the constant news cycle.
It’s eating at my brain like a media maggot. Munching through my mind are the words breaking news, whistleblower, Ukraine, and strong arm. I am sure these words are ringing in your ears too.
I cannot turn on one news program, and the president isn’t infecting across the screen. Witchhunt, presidential harassment, and other useless words tick across the bottom of my t.v.
I am sure some of you would love a classic save a cat from the tree news piece. A dog literally walking across the water from Africa to reunite with his master in Oklahoma would bring a smile to this tired American’s face. As improbable as that it is, the sheer diversion of trying to figure what breed of dog can walk on water would be great.
I want the president gone so that at least I can get back to other bad news that isn’t coming from the White House. I understand the need to keep us informed about the clown show we see on the East Coast, but I want these guys clown shoes to be taken and burned in the street. Please tear down the big top and lock up the monkeys ruining this country.
If I see one more news conference, I am burning my eyes out with hot french fries.
We are fracturing our nation even further apart because of constant coverage. We can’t watch one late-night comedian whose entire monologue isn’t about the president. There must be an end to the jokes. Isn’t the well of jokes ever going to run dry?
Well, if we examine the buffoonery that’s our politics, then that well is as deep and cold as Lake Michigan. To a comedian, it’s a buffet of material. However, why not crack a joke about some other topic. Trust the world has plenty of funny crap to go around.
I desire a calm mind and existence, but the world is so noisy. It’s filled with so much negativity and pain. We want some positivity, and as a nation, we deserve some good news.
We need to band together and take our country in a positive direction. Politicians practice their agenda. Washington is a political theater at our expense as taxpayers.
The price of admission is too high, and I am tired of paying the price with my sanity.
