The Maze
Poetry

Darling, take a dance with me In the corridors of my mind I’ll lead you through my colored maze My head and soul entwined.
The deepest parts where secrets lie Behind a haze of grey My melancholy sonata An out-of-tune piano plays.
We’ll take a turn amongst the hedges Adorned with roses red But watch you do not prick yourself On thorns from hearts once bled.
Skip merrily through the open field That’s vast but mostly bare Green grass laid out before us A pretty flower, rare.
We’ll hop from star to planet In the galaxy of creativities Across the purple milky way Floats music, words, and stories.
The black and white chessboard The home where logic rules The place to seek the answers My least endearing tools.
The northern-most peninsula We’ll go in search of truth The moral coded compass That guides us where to look.
The blue inviting ocean Where I go to seek my calm We’ll listen to the crashing waves While walking arm in arm.
The rainbow covered center Where everything collides A symphony of all the things That makes this maze my mind.
