The Mayans Predicted Medium
It all started off with an Idea
Someone must have thought, whilst dancing around a fire, hollering mythical chants — ‘wait a second. What if we could all be connected somehow on some kind of hand-held bricky thing, and send carvings, and symbols, and. Oh my! We could have some kind of world within a world where we connect and share ideas and. Holy shoot! What if we could connect the entire world!!! What if we could fly and build' — picture the most inspirational looky-to-the-sky face — ‘we could build ships and houses the size of mountains and, what if, just what if we could travel faster. What if we could travel faster than a camel! Or dare I say, faster than a horse! —’ he’s still dancing around the fire guys, he’s completely lost it at this point — ‘what if? Just what if we could build a flying machine. And fly to the moon —
-— By now he realizes he’s been speaking out loud. The tribe members have been frozen in confusion for like five minutes now. Jaws wide open, eyes flickering — and a kid just started crying. ‘Mum, what’s wrong with Dad?’ Asks a little boy, tugging at his mum. ‘Nothing dear, I think your father’s lost it this time. It’ll be okay.’
Oops — Everyone is staring — Damn this is awkward he thinks. What just happened. These ideas? Are they real. Can they be done?
I think something like this must have happened numerous amount of times until someone was even crazier enough to actually go forward and achieve the impossible. But how bewildering must these kinds of thoughts have been at one point. ‘flying machines and hand-held bricky devices to connect the world?’ — yep, okay, pal.
It seems absurd when we really think about it — but we are actually living the impossible. It’s quite tantalizing to the adrenal glands to think what more we can actually achieve? — cue exaggerated evil laugh.
But seriously, I wonder what ideas are brewing in your mind?
