The Mascots of Our Life

It’s unbelievable how they can make us incredibly happy

The happiness that you felt can never be forgotten The first day you saw her You knew it was meant to be

Introducing her to your home was the best Joy was all around Couldn't stop smiling!

You had problems, everyone has. Why are you any different? This was what I was asking myself. All you could do was to deep dive yourself in school, but this suddenly proved not to be enough. You started to wonder what else you could start to get distracted…maybe a hobby?

There are tons of hobbies out there, you decide that you can start with just one. Choosing it was the problem. You went to the park to get some fresh air in hopes of getting ideas. You saw that many people were walking their happy-tailed friends. You could see they were having the time of their lives.

You thought of something crazy, you went back to your house. Filled up with courage, you asked your parents if you could have a dog. They immediately said no. With no exceptions. Here came another thunder of emotions.

Sick of always feeling down, you started to look for more ideas. You suddenly had a brilliant idea. You were going to offer to walk other people’s pets. It was not common where you lived but you gave it your shot. Flyers were put up.

After a few long days, you finally got a call!!! It was your first dog and you were ecstatic. Suddenly you had other pets to take out for a walk. They were always joyful about tagging along. Wagging their tails vigorously, you even thought they were going to fall off.

A few months went by. You did not even know what was going to happen. That day would change your life. Your parents sat you down. You knew a serious conversation was going to unfold. But to your surprise, they told you how they have seen you so different with this new hobby and that they were happy. They did not know how those little animals could change you so much.

Your mother suddenly went to the patio, she said to come with her. Next to her, was a small ball of fur. You could not believe it! There she was. Moving like there was no tomorrow. I cried immediately. Your very first pet.

You saw a puppy who was eager to enjoy the world with you. You had many questions rumbling inside of your head. What were her first tricks going to be? Will she be well-behaved or will she be a little rascal? What were you going to buy for her? What toys would she like? There were a million other questions but the only thing that you did know was that you loved her. You were going to take care of her and give all of your love.

You kept weeping with happiness. From that very first day, you had a friend who was always eager to help you out. To give you more joy than anything in the world.

It was your true treasure.

I hope you liked this short fictional story. I got inspired as I was playing with my dog. She has been with our family for years now and I’m really grateful. She is always there for us and Mulan is always cheerful. We are learning new things all the time and she is still showing us new ways she would like to play. Every day, she is always there to greet us with a joyful bark.

The care one person can give to their mascot is extraordinary yet it can seem insufficient. You always want to give them the best. The best for the best. I am sure you can also wonder… What else can I do for them?

I also used to have a ferret but sadly we had to give her away but that’s another story. Do you have any mascots? What types of pets do you have?
