My Challenge to Throw Every Cent At My House

It’s the beginning of the month and all I have to say is that my race is beginning!

This month is my month to throw every extra cent I can make at my house to try to pay it off this year.

This means trying to make as much money from side hustles as possible, to include on Medium here with you amazing writers!

This means maxing out all possible overtime with my job (which by my calculation is about 126 hours of overtime…give or take). Yes…I am going to be exhausted this month!

This means trying not to spend any money needlessly (which obviously does not include bills or food).

My husband and I have been busting our butts trying to pay the house off early. But it is so close to the end at this point that it is hard not to want to try and expedite it!

We started off with a $215,000 mortgage on December 1, 2020. This was right before the housing market when bonkers, fortunately.

As of today, our current balance is $79,816.40.

My goal is to throw a whopping $15,000 at the house this month (lofty goal, I know…but some of that is going to be coming from a tax refund…which knocks out about half of that).

Do you think I can do it? What are some suggestions you can give me to get to my goal faster? I need to know all tips, tricks, and advice that you can throw at me!
