The Man Who Was Killed By A Tampon
Yes, this story is actually true.
It is January and the year is 1996.
Mr. Mark Gleeson, 26, of Headley Down, Hampshire snored very heavily at night and disturbed other people, especially his girlfriend Tracey Lambert by doing so. The snoring issue was a result of sinus problems following a road accident, as his mother stated. He tried to solve the problem but unfortunately, doctors had told the man that his snoring was incurable.
One day, Gleeson and his girlfriend had the genius idea: They would simply put tampons up his nose to solve the problem. Great idea, right?
Previously, the two had drunk wine and the man had taken sleeping pills.
Mark Gleeson fell asleep on his girlfriend’s sofa. When she tried to wake him up the next day, he was dead.
In an article about the incident, his girlfriend is quoted as saying:
“The conversation just came up about the snoring and we both agreed that was what he would do.’’
The pathologist in charge said Gleeson was suffocating in part because of the tampons and that the sleeping pills had exacerbated his breathing problems.
Remember guys, don’t drink and drive. And don’t take sleeping pills and push tampons up your nose either. Choking on tampons. Without external influence. Certainly a very absurd death.
In the following two articles, you can read about other curious, sometimes even foolish deaths.
