The Mammogram Tech from “H. E. double hockey sticks”

My yearly Mammogram was so much fun
Who says that? No One Does! No One!
I Brought my Bible to help calm my nerves today
But all of that went out the window when I heard them say:
“Lu Skerdoo, come on back and change into a “gown”…
But If THIS is a gown, then I am SURE that I’m a clown!
I took selfies in the “gown” while in the dressing room
While awaiting my yearly doom and gloom.
I had prayed to have a “different” technician as the one I always got
seemed to always call me days later
Just to take another SHOT.
God SURE answered my prayer, and it taught me an awful lot
Just shut your mouth, Lu, and be thankful for what you GOT!
Because this Tech sure was DIFFERENT and had no sense of humor
and
My attempt at Stand-up comedy is truly not a RUMOR!!
I have often been told that I have a quick wit
yet this new tech gave me no feedback and seemed “off” by quite a bit.
At one point she told me to “Stand up TALL”
and the next thing she said was
“Keep your arms Straight up and Bend toward that wall” :/
I asked her “how do I do that when I’m 5 foot 9 inches tall?”
and she looked blankly at me as if I wasn’t speaking to her at all.
I was so upset this day as Frosty is quite ill and at our home
My mind was mostly on him, and I was worried having left him all alone.
I told her at one point: “Just Forget it…I just can’t do this!”
And she turned point blankly to me and said, “It’s quite YOUR CHOICE MISS!”
I was thinking “what the heck kind of attitude is THIS!!!???”
I knew that I could not leave because cancer runs in my family a lot
I have to have this checkup YEARLY so it’s early if it’s caught.
I asked the tech some kind questions trying to diffuse the atmosphere
But her Attitude struck me smart arse and I wanted OUT OF HERE!
I realized with this attempt of mine to get her to answer me more sweetly
that I shouldn’t have prayed for a different Tech
God showed me that quite Neatly —
Take who you’re given, Lu
and “Buck up like a Marine” and DO it!
Even If they call you back for an ultrasound
Then GOD will get you through this!
Thank you for reading my Mammogram Rant…And I appreciate any prayers you pray for my dog Frosty because he needs it too.
And always remember my Mom’s favorite Bible verse:
Proverbs 3:5&6
“Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”
